My E3110(Q807A091) runs @4,5G with 1,4V stable.Temps under full prime max 54°C (NV120 Premium cooling)
I only run my machine about 3-5hours a day. Thus I have heared Xeons can take a little more vcore than e.g. E8400 due to the longer binning. Is this correct and is 1,4V for my low per day usage okay?
Read what I wrote a couple of posts above.
I'm not making this up, this info came from someone at Intel.

yea i sure read your post. However i ain't running 24/7 only 3-5hrs/day and you only wrote about 45nm cpus.Is it now true or not that the "longer binned" Xeon cpus can take a little more vcore?
I don't think that, because they're a bit better binned than the E8400, that they can take more voltage for a longer period of time compared to the E8400.
It applies to all 45nm cpu's, being it Wolfdales or Yorkfileds.
Maybe that in your case, as you'll be running it 3-5 hours a day, you might go a little over the recommended 1.325V, but I personally wouldn't let it run at 1.4V.
But that's my opinion.![]()

Here's 4.2 on a Q807.
Memory is 1:1, 5-5-5-15-54
Unfortunately, my board's NB HS height will not allow me to orient the HSF (xigmatek HDT-1283) so that air is exhausted out of the back of the case.
I'll be replacing that with this...
http://www.xoxide.com/noctua-n...cooler&channelid=FROOG
Then turning the cooler to blow out the back of the case instead of @ the powersupply. Should net at least a few degrees C cooler @ these settings.
Case I have is this...

My X3110 is so crappy... I need almost 1.4V for 4Ghz. The FSB Wall under water is somewhere around 560Mhz... It looks like I got one of the worst ones ^^

First define high Vcore, most users will need 1.5+ Vcore at those speeds... think not many run their rigs daily either at those speeds... 4 - 4.2ghz is a more realistic goal...

Look at my list mate to search for a good batch :

Hey new here just was checking how you guys did with your overclocks and all.
I got a q745a784 batch of xeon e3110 and it isn't all that good. I need like 1.46v in bios * cpu z showing 1.4l load to get 4ghz stable at 500 x 8 *ram synched * Load temps like 60c (52 real temp). Its good enough for me and i am running this 24/7.
But I am wondering what are the chances that it could affect the other components of my system if the chip decide to go in say 6 months? *all the mobo voltages in the green* ^ I don't really plan on it lasting much longer then that, as it is exceeding the 1.25v by a bit![]()

at default idle temps are very good (+6/7 over ambient). I'm a bit worried on the difference of 8-9c between the two cores. Somebody says thats normal. The TRUE is well seated.

mine needs high 1.4's set in bios to get anywhere over 4G's also. just built this xeon with gigabyte ep35c-ds3r and 2x patriot ddr3 1866to see how the board would handle ddr3. doesn't get a tick over 1600, but still has impressive numbers throughout the range of dividers and is much cheaper than most other ddr3 boards. threw box away and didn't save batchbut nothing stellar anyway. even the not so good xeons make ya wonder why people mess with the 8400 and 8500's. zerotherm nirvana nv120 cpu cooler, no agua here

Pff my Q802 is BAD. 1.3V to go to 3.6, and 4GHz is just a voltage-hell. I have noo screens, no net on the Xeon.
