    Corsair Dominator Pc8888 CL4 *UPPDATED 31/6-08*

    Hi all!

Iīm not much of an reviewer or SuperPi tweaker but I do like good ram and this kit is my best so far I will uppdate with more tests as I go, this is a small teaser!

First time playing with DFI UT X48 board aswell, timings mostly on auto Totall uptime less then 4 hours.

    500Mhz 4-4-4-X Low vdimm test...

    UPPDATE 31/6-08

I like to do my tests as "real world" as posibule, thatīs way I do all my test with the suplied "Dominator fan" inside case.
I have som basic test I do with all my ram the first is 500mhz 4-4-4-X at the lowest voltage. As seen above my dominators did this with 1,91v. Second test is 400mhz 3-4-3-9, while I did not exactly match 400mhz I was impressed my findings.

    CL3 @ 2,15v

Still CL3...2,35v Never had ANY kit that did close to this with realativly low v-dimm.

Also booted win at 600mhz 4-4-4-12 with 2,42. Not stable but should be with under 2,5v!

CL5 tests and 500mhz CL3 still to come...

Those sticks put the Dominate in Dominator. The set I have will do CAS 5 1170 with 1.8v and CAS4 985 24/7 stable Fantastic sticks, you've got some room with that trfc

yeah but corsair guarantees high clocks, that brand i never heard of is officially only rated to 800 555...
and the hand writing on the stick looks very suspicious if you ask me...
i dont think all their kits clock to 1100 444... if they would, then why wouldnt they sell them as 1000 444 or at least 800 444?

I think that OCZ Flex II are better as they are guaranteed for 1150 Mhz and can scale up to and beyond 1200 Mhz on 2.15v. But I dont think they can do 1.8v. I havnt tried testing them at CAS 4 yet, but I have heard that they can do 1000 Mhz. I will test that at some time.

Trust me, the OCZ Flex II's have nothing on these sticks. Those Flex II's aren't in the same category of the 8888C4 dominators. I don't have my notebook with me but I recall 1200MHz CAS 4 with really tight sub-timings at 2.3v and 1120-1130 with 2.1v.

    Yes, they are 2*1gb.

Booted win at 600mhz 4-4-4-12 @ 2,42v but it was not stable, should be stable with 2,5v or so. Will test that later my 28C ambient is not helping...
Testing 415mhz 3-4-3-9 @ 2,15v know, looks good so far.

    600mhz 4-4-4-12 screen

EDIT:3-4-3-9 Screen, I think I can go a tad lower on the volts for this to be stable

Hey saaya! As soon as I´m done playing with this kit am swiching over to my Cellhock "Red" Pc9200 kit Should be intresting as I have never had any luck with those on AMD platform. Hopfully they will play nice with my DFI... I heard DFI´s X48 does not like GKX, do you know any thing abought that?

@ Bhavv, You realy like that Ocz kit don´t know? Don´t take this the wrong way, but it´s hard to compare an 1*2gb to an 2*2gb kit. And those power chips ARE nice, tryed 5-5-3-X with them?

there were some problems with some dfi boards, but oskar fixed it in some bios release a while back
you should be able to get the 9200s to 1200 555 or 1066 444, or higher...
unless theres some problem with the board, but as i said, that should be loooong fixed

Some strage behavior going on here, either my board does not like CL5 or my Kit does not.

Running my CPU at 9*300 for an mem klock of 600mhz 5-5-5-15 PL7. Cpu is toltaly stable at this clock with 1,1v.

    Example
    Vdimm 2,0v
    NB 1,306
    OCCT fails after 5-7sec...

    Vdimm 2,05v
    NB1,36
    Occt fails after 1min

    Vdimm 2,05
    NB 1,404
    Occt fails after 9 min.

Is it normal to need 1,4v + for 600mhz 5-5-5-15 PL7? Or am I doing something wrong?

    i had a kit of 8888's and
    1) wouldnt boot at under 2.2v you needed to do a ram swap to install them in a system. the worst part of the ram. they could have made a lower SDP in the ram so they would boot.
    2) were horrible and couldnt overclock past stock SPD
    3) i sold them after a week lol....

nice to see your having a good time with them!!

I think max Cas4 is still from Brezodor (JMH) :

    http://valid.x86-secret.com/show_oc.php?id=317244

But here there's nothing to discuss about low vdimm, he used 3.1v under SS

But still, nice sticks of Corsair, when you start playing with subs, you'll get something better I think.

    Almost like the 6400 C3FD:

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820145165

Loosen those and they go way up.

Just be sure to keep under the 2.4v....I've already cooked one pair

But another is on the way
