I have been researching this type of build for about 4 months, it would appear that jcool's machine is one of the very best if not the best for the price.

jcool, could you please post your current bios settings? I'm using some different vid cards in crossfire mode, I'm waiting on the bits o machine to arrive but my build will be similar. I have found an interesting card that has a great review and puts out good numbers on OC for very cheap.

what do you guys think? (the 512MB version) HIS IceQ Turbo HD 2600 XT

So with 2 of them OC'd and crossfired I should get good graphics performance. 1gb GDDR3 at 1098/2196MHz with two cores running @ 938Mhz for $120? (after rebate) Sure there's only 240 process pipes vs 640 on 2, 3870's but it should still game besides 2 3870's are $360, maybe later...

Wow- jcool your build is worthy of a book, I know I have read your thread lots of times! or front page somewhere, it's mostly affordable, say about $3K US for a finished machine with OS. Vs- $6K for similar or worse numbers, but of course you have to build it, not just buy it, but that's half the fun.

I will list what I have in my box after I get it running.
