    Exclamation 9800GX2: HDMI TV bug w/Viewsonic VX2835vm

I have the Viewsonic VX2835vm and i've been using svga to DVI on my 9800GX2 because native HDMI to HDMI on the 9800GX2 doesn't work well.

It detects my LCD as an HD TV, even though it is both, It should detect it as an LCD monitor.

The taskbar and icons are cropped out and the desktop in general seems zoomed in too much and I cannot adjust my display settings on my monitor.

I've been looking around, and people are saying in certain forums that it is a bug with the forceware and there are fixes for certain cards but I have not found one for the 9800GX2.

Here is what I checked out:
    http://forums.nvidia.com/index.php?s...st=20&p=336967

    http://www.evga.com/forums/tm.asp?m=294136

I have tried both and have done nothing.

Anybody using HDMI with the 9800GX2 please help, thanks.

I had this exact very same problem that led me to just returning the 9800GX2 We have the same monitors, and there was no way I could find a work around for this. I went back using my 3870's in X-Fire, ATi has no issues what so ever determining the difference in a HDtv, and a LCD panel using a HDMI-DVI adapter. However, I have a 8800GTX coming this week to play with and hope that I dont have the same issue.
    Nothing anymore

All info is posted on evga:

    http://www.evga.com/forums/tm.asp?m=294136

Dont forget to use the EDID util to get the right values to the .inf file modification.

In case you have installed a lot of different driver version before, maybe you have to reinstall windows, in my case that was the only way to make it work.

If you need more info please PM me.

    See ya

    Got it working

Okay scatch that. It does work, with the DVI to HDMI cable.

HDMI to HDMI doesn't work but who cares, unless you're using internal HDTV speakers, true HDMI doesn't matter

WICKED SWEET superl33t! thanks to everybody.
