Left one's mine, a 2002 Fiat Stilo. I know, Italian cars are crap, unreliable and blah blah blah. But I like it, and despite certain "problems" I had to take care of (modify that crappy drivetrain, use a German Bosch battery instead of the Italian one etc) this car has never let me down, be it skiing at -20C or racing through the country at full throttle in 35C summer heat.

It also came very cheap and with great interior equipment.

    Racing? In a Stilo? Estate?

Sorry, just kidding, nothing wrong with small economical cars, especially when they aren't terribly ugly like my Tracer.

EDIT: I realize that wasn't terribly clear. I mean to say my Tracer is ugly, extremely so.

FoMoCo FTW. They are good cars if you treat them with care.

It's not an Estate, it's just the 5 door version
And doing 800km in under 5h is racing by my definition... something you can't do anywhere else in the world, at least not legally
Also, 4,30m isn't small by European definition
As long as it fits my skiing and surfing equipment + GF it's big enough, don't you think

My mistake, I am honestly not familiar enough with it hence the Estate mistake. My only real exposure is through Top Gear, and to be honest that isn't the best place to learn about a Fiat.

LOL, yes, small is defiantly a relative thing depending on where you live.

I had to do some conversion for my own sake. That averages out to 99.4 miles per hour, not bad at all.

The closest I have come is from my house to Orlando Florida (1200 miles) in just over 14 hours. Average speed of around 85 MPH....in a lowered Nissan mini truck..with a 1400 watt stereo(yeah, I was young). A bit risky but a bunch of fun.

No problem man, the Estate version is really ugly ^^
Top speed is about 200km/h or 125mph by the way... 200 GPS, not speed-o-meter (that's already out of range somewhere behing 220 there LOL)

Oh and I am young so I figured, I'm gonna drive this car till it breaks apart and THEN I'm gonna get myself something nice, maybe the Audi S3 (no need for a bigger car here, more than 4,50m is just a hindrance)

125 MPH isn't bad, my Expedition can do that...in theory, I am NEVER going to attempt it....ever, but given the HP to weight ratio and the fact that it is about as aerodynamic as a barn door I think that would be about all it can muster even with the 400+ HP it manages.

I use that power for mud though, not speed. I have had to 105 MPH on a very straight stretch of interstate. I could not imagine even a mild curve at anything approaching that speed.

I have owned some truly fast cars in my time, and I am sure I will again. Hell, my first car was a 1979 Mustang Cobra that I bought for 100 dollars when i was 14 and spent 2 years rebuilding so it was ready for the road when I turned 16.

That was a truly hot car, I had about 6 grand into the engine alone, I spent 12 hours a day, 7 days a week during the summer working on a farm to pay for it, then another 4 or 5 hours a day working on the car. It is one of those that I wish I had never sold, but as they say, hindsight is always 20/20.

That's not saying a whole lot. Sounds like you should try something else it may last longer.

LOL, If that were the case I would certainly try a different brand. My problem is actually impulse buying. I see a car that I simply MUST have, and I sell whatever I've got to get it. I have managed to tone that down a bit since getting married and having kids but it does still happen occasionally.

Yeah, my Dad was the same way. Now he's had the '02 Explorer for 4 years, which is a record by a mile. It used to be every year to year and a half, sometimes shorter, that he'd get a different car. He's looking @ new stuff now again, though. I'm trying to push him to wait until the 2009 Fusions come out - redesigned and sick lookin.

Earlier today I saw an F250, somewhere around a '00 or '01 with at least 37" tires, they may have been bigger, I was doing 40 or so and it was in a yard. I didn't stop to look at it but I very well may tomorrow.

Nice, but only buy it if it has a powerstroke and FX4, its not worth it without.

    Ford FTW.

About all I can tell you from my drive by today is that it is a power stroke (right front fender was clearly visible) and that it is a super duty.

400+hp... *gulp*. Well, my alltime-record with this car was 145 mph according to GPS, on a long decline and with ~1000pounds in ski, snowboard and alcohol in the car
Not bad at all for an estimate 120hp eh Acceleration sucks, it does have a great cd-value though.

I really feel your point with that Cobra, gotta love these cars
My mum used to own a 1959 Porsche 356.
She sold it in the 80's for a few hundred bucks, guess what it'd be worth now... They don't even rust 'cause they are made from Kruppstahl and the remains of tanks.
