Late model '94 on 285/75/16 M/T MTZ's with 50,000 on them..

Looking to change vehicles soon maybe though so might not own this much longer

It was the Bronco IIs that were top heavy and tipped over. The Big broncos were basically F-series, same front clip, just a different cab. The thing is though, that is an Eddie-Bauer bronco, its not for offroading since it has the highest trim level ford offered.

magnj, if you havent gotten the front wheels yet, put the rears up front, and get some 17x10.5 with some 315's, wheelreplicas will have em for ya

If you dont mind redoing the front end to keep it from falling off I guess. Hate the way Ford does it, too weak and when it wears down (which being a heavy use 4x4 it would) it gets sloppier than a GM thats been on the road for 250,000

Yup, my dad has 180,000 on a 1989 F150 4x4 (300ci 6cyl, lim slip, 3.73) and he just replaced all of his front tierods and everything else, was wearing out the tires like hell.

Thats a good point, rangers are nice trucks but the fuel issue with any truck kind of castrates any ambition to own one to some extent.

If fuel prices ever drop down to more reasonable levels in the future, I'll try to get a Dodge Ram heavy duty with a Cummins diesel
...unless by then, I don't have the need for a pickup truck anymore...

...or I could do a V8 swap in the Ranger

A Dodge Dakota wouldn't be bad, but it sucks to find a newer one that's in my price range.

I'm not tubbing it, and without doing that there is no way I'll get 10.5's on there with ranger axles. Plus I like the Ford pieces and I'd like to do the same all around so I can rotate, but maybe I'll go to like 275's on the rear.

Drop a Cummins 4bt in a full size truck, 30mpg isnt out of the ordinary and makes decent power.

More fun to put them in a "small" 4x4 though. 30mpg easier than the full size truck and lighter overall.

I'd love a newer Dodge Ram with a Cummins diesel, but 1) out of my budget and 2) every time I'd fill it up, it would feel like I got kicked in the balls

Some guy around my area was selling a Ranger 4x4 with a 4BT. There is a video of it on youtube under the user "Mooktank" I believe. He was only asking $6000 or so for it. Not sure whatever happened to it.

Another cool thing I saw was a Cummins 24v ISB dropped into an old Monte Carlo, you can get that engine easily over 400 HP, and still get 30 MPG

1998 Ford Expedition Eddie Bauer. Cold air intake, chipped, custom dual exhaust and Cooper Discoverer SST 285/75R 16 (not in the pics though, they were taken the day I bought it.)
It has the full air leveling system that raises when you put it in 4 low, does pretty well off road, especially when you consider its size.








...and a 1998 Mercury Tracer, no pics because I hate it. Of course given the current price of gas guess which I drive more
