As it was borked right from the start already, then I only appreciate your testing since you only took a big chance of the shops not accepting RMA. If they find traces of Overvoltage and not your initial issues they just blaim you.

Although there should be a stopline somewhere, but well, everyone does things which aren't allowed in the first place. And the downloading part is a perfect example. Im not saying all these things are ok to do then, but dont flame people while you might not be such a sweet angel either.

Just stop over it, it's all about testing and not your feelings. Keep those for your self.
