Why are there so many people anti- ddr3?
Same story as with sdr->ddr? or ddr->ddr2?

Looks like a nice board though. Also seems like it's going to be a bit beyond my price-range

it iis digital. see these small chips left to those red caps? that are the chips of a digital pwm, i have the same on my ix38

pic of those chips, they look the same:

    DFI AM2

the pwm on my x1900 is similar to this one, they only use normall caps instead of these smd-ceramic ones, inductors look the same

    EDIT: hd2900 @ vr-zone (shamino's pics):

    notice the right phase

because they dont have the money to buy DDR3, and with ddr-> ddr2 it was because of AMD (they had higher mem bw than intel and still had ddr1, so why switch to it)

so yeah it is faster, but is it worth to spend 100% more to get an improvement of 5%?

not really... (for 99.5% of all user)

Actually that's the inductor rather than the capacitor

i know that it'S the inductor, i was talking about the fact that they use normal solid caps instead of these smd-ceramic ones

just didnt remember the english word for "spule" (=inductor) , well my sentence is a bit messed up too

The dip switches indicate to me that this is not a retail board.
Those dipswitches are used for fine tuning the PCI-E lanes during alpha/beta stages.

I would rather see one of those PA1314NL linked chokes there instead of the horde of traditional chokes. Or maybe a PA1314NL with one PA1312NL for a total of six phases.
You were not supposed to see this.

That's what I was thinking. I have not seen dip switches in a long time.

All these great boards to show, but what good is it if you cannot launch with large quantities.

You should change this to the above.

    Froogle shows ZERO QF products

What quantum force needs is a very powerful enthusiast board that does not need dual GPU (like P965/P35). Then it'll appeal to the CPU overclocking types.

Yes, MARS is very strong board, definitely best LGA775 DDR2 board i ever seen. And i seen almost every DDR2 board that ever came out in retail. Only i would llike integrated memtest in BIOS, that would be awesome!
bluep3ace, MARS is P35 board. It is EOL, but you can find it in some shops or get it 2nd hand for some sweet money if you're still on DDR2.

The specs on this board look hawt, but that NB is in the worst position. Why move it? I bet 80% of potential customers for this board want to mount a TRUE vertically with a fan for most of the board's life. Unless it's really low, I bet the NB sink will block the fan. Well, maybe not. Screw it I want to try one of these suckers.

Will this be the P45 equivalent of the Mars?

looks really nice.. I love the fact that the fets are not backed up against the peripheral port hardware, finally.. nice and open layout.. nb placement could be better.. but oh well.
