I dunno guys, MSRP at only $499? This chip is going to be 600mm^2, and only $499?
    I've heard it's bigger then 600mm^2
Adobe is working on Flash Player support for 64-bit platforms as part of our ongoing commitment to the cross-platform compatibility of Flash Player. We expect to provide native support for 64-bit platforms in an upcoming release of Flash Player following the release of Flash Player 10.1.

    Yeah, right...
    520-600mm2 is the current rumor.
    530-560mm2 would be likely, IMO.

Should be interesting, either Nvidia is very stupid starting war with Intel or they have something seriously impressive up there sleeve. Somehow I doubt the something really impressive is GT200 but we will have to wait and see...

GT200 is going to be powerful as hell, but also expensive to make, the PCB will be expensive, the memory chips are expensive, etc. It's product to show that NVIDIA is number one graphics circuit maker and that it can make something like this. Extreme high-end is rarely a product for anything but showing off.

Which means that GT200 is not something NVIDIA can actually use to go up against Intel since it won't be economically feasible. Very few will actually buy it. It's not something to be afraid of, at least not for Intel.
Considering the early yield problems of G92, I can't imagine GT200 would get such great yields that NVIDIA can actually make loads of them.

Now if NVIDIA would come up with a circuit that was cheap to make, offered great value and performance, and was accessible to everyone, now that would scare Intel...

Not useless, for bragging it's excellent, but in terms of actually scaring Intel, yes. It's not cost efficient.
It's a proof of the powerful hardware NVIDIA can design, but it's not feasible for NVIDIA to use it to kick Intel butt in practice, maybe in theory, but that won't get you far.
And NVIDIA should be very careful presenting slideware and biased comparisons after bashing both Intel and AMD in recent interviews. Acting like the bullied underdog might get you publicity for now, but without backing it up, people will lose interest and look for something with substance.

So basically thats what Nvidia has been doing since 6800s. They always launch the "Ultra"-card which takes over the 3DMark ranks, but wich isn't owned by many people. Ati calls this Act of desperation.

Hopefully they can sample cheaper cards based on GT200 core, otherwise they are fighting RV770 with G92b, which doesn't sound very good. :|

I'll probably have to end up going water at that point. My room in the summer gets *&!#$%^ hot after two or more hours of gaming. I'm on an E6420 @ 3.2Ghz and 8800GTS 640MB @ 650/1550/900. I won't touch a quad with a ten foot pole because of the heat output.

For my part I know nothing with any certainty, but the sight of the stars makes me dream.

dude that won't make a difference, in fact, your room will be hotter, as more heat will be displaced from the gpu and cpu. And unless you can vent the hot air the condensor and compressor produce, phase wouldn't help either. your temps will definitely be lower though

My computer is close enough to my window that I would run the radiator on the window sill. I guess that's something I should have pointed out.

Exclamation The 4800 series will launch after Nvidia’s GT200

TG Daily Exclusive – We previously published several details about AMD’s next-generation graphics card lineup and as we get closer to the launch we are getting more details about the launch date, feature set and prices. The good news: The new boards will come with “physics processing capability” and prices that will start below $200 for a 512 MB board. The bad news: The 4800 series will launch after Nvidia’s GT200.

Yes, we know, we previously said that the 4800 series would launch in May, but as it stands right now, we won’t be seeing the first new cards until mid-June. According To AMD’s current introduction schedule, the Radeon 4800 series will launch in week 25, which puts the day of the introduction somewhere between June 15 and June 22. What is significant about this time frame is that ATI will trail Nvidia and their new high-end chip GT200.

Hmm, I hope my MCW60 will fit on this card without adapters.

And I sure hope it wont cost € 500 like the 8800GTX at launch.

    GT200 3DMark Vantage score revealed

Under High preset with QX9650 OC : P13000+

    Source : VR-Zone

They are usually right. That would mean that it would be twice as fast as a 8800 Ultra or so?

3DMark is always very poor in predicting game fps, but it's promising

I have seen a 2 fold increase in GPU upgrades from console junkie buds of mine. 1/2 get 96, the other 88. I believe G92 did that for them. Maybe GT500 will be that card. Surely they could simplify things and name the boards something like, "Shelby GT 500"

What if we could have Driver 500 and card 500?

High Preset & P13000+ score don't match, because P is the indicator for the Performance Preset

If the score ( 13000 ) is true, then the card is some percent faster than 9800GX2 or 9800GTS SLI ( as you prefer )

    What's with the "" and ""?
How are numbers like 280 and 260 somehow funny/stupid?
You were not supposed to see this.
