u need to change MB, look at the dfi x48 t3r or asus p5e3 something, gigabyte is bad

then change your ram, im rather sure that that isnt micron bassed

3rd change the psu that thing is trash, look to a corsair 750TX or pc power and cooling 750\

4th u need to swap the HDD look at a 640GB WD or a 320GB 7200.11 or 1TB samsung, dont waist money on a slow 500GB drive from the worst maker, if u want a 500 go samsung f1
    5930k, R5E, samsung 8GBx4 d-die, vega 56, wd gold 8TB, wd 4TB red, 2TB raid1 wd blue 5400
    samsung 840 evo 500GB, HP EX 1TB NVME , CM690II, swiftech h220, corsair 750hxi

WOW .. lots of changes ..

Lookin at the DFI Boards .. the most expensive one listed is
DFI LP LT X48-T2R LGA 775 Intel X48 ATX Intel Motherboard
But .. looking at the specifications
    it has
    Memory Standard DDR2 800

While the giga one has DDR3 ?

    .. Hmmm

and i saw they have a combo deal so i switch the Graphics card to
    EVGA 01G-P3-N891-AR GeForce 9800 GX2 1GB (512MB per GPU) 512-bit (256-bit per GPU) GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card - Retail

    And the HD To
    SAMSUNG SpinPoint T Series HD501LJ 500GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive - OEM

    What else u think ?

Now we are back to the Motherboard / Memory !

If you want to OC, the Q9300 is horrible. It has such a low multi that even with a FSB > 550 you will not get a decent speed.
I would recommends the E8400/E8500 if you don't need a quad or the Q6600.

I don't know what site you're buying off but at overclockers at least, the AKIMBO card is more expensive than a GTS...

The 9800 is the most expensive video card these people sell!

The CPU is good, but it will not OC that well. Since you are not a big fan of OCing, keep it

Basically what he is saying, is that the Q9300 chip isn't worth it, If you do infact need a quad i would also go with the Q6600 chip over that, If you don't need a Quad chip go for the e8400.
You can still run games with the Q9300 fine but for what your paying for it, and it cannot OC worth a crap really, than either get the Q6600 or the e8400/e8500, if you go with one of the 8000 series chips, get the e8400 best performance for the buck.
And it can OC like nutz

here is the board i was speeking of its $30more but it should be the best
    http://www.motherboardpro.com/DFI-La...ard-p-644.html

also for ram if u want 4GB ddr3 then, i would go for this gskill kit
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231167

im not sure on ur budget affter those but look at the samsung from here its the raid class server drive its a little faster and not much more
    http://www.atacom.com/program/atacom...Disp_item2.y=0

edit - the reason why i dont like gigabyte is becouse they are asus's low tier and they tend to kill ram and they dont have digital pwms like the dfi boards do so u get vdroop and it can force extra amps into componants were a digital pwm will not

just look at gigabyte and gmh ddr2, i cant think of any1 who has killed gmh or gkx on a digital pwm dfi but gigabyte kills the sticks in a few weeks, affter getting my dfi x38 im not going back to asus or gigabyte

Why recommend that motherboard when he is not OC-ing? 330$ is just a waste of money. I would buy the cheapest one I can get my hands on

its not for ocing only its for longevity, teh settings that u use can change the uses, better voltage means less voltage needed

its the only with ddr3 and a digital pwm, im not sure why he wants the x38/48 but thats what he had originally and i would want the most stable and best voltage control as possible to increase the life span of everything that u put in it, and its one of the cheapest (somehow) most are in the $350-375 price range

Where did you get that from :')

Have 3 Seagate Harddrives and they are all still working (1 as external).
True that the Samsung F1's are faster but it don't make the Seagate bad HDD's
Also very good experience with Seagate's Service when i had some questions regarding my Harddisk.
But definitively not 'Worst HDD maker' That price goes to WD

DDR3 is a must. Don't really agree with the digital PWM. I think that an analog solution would work just as good. Especially since it will not be stressed that much anyway. Maybe I'm just cheap

Is the DFI T3R better or Asus P5e3 premium or P5e64 Evo? And why Q6600 in stead Q9450 is that CPU not good either? Cause I am planning to buy a new PC too but now sure if I wanna go for DDR2 or DDR3 a lots people saying DDR3 is almost no different than DDR2 due to the las. But I am not starting my project till HD4870x2 comes out.

    Q9450 w/120 extreme

there are only a few major makers, seagate, WD, hitatchi, samsung, fujitsu. so they are the worst since they are the slowest and in my experience they use the most platers and have the highest failure rates next to WD (only for 2.5" with wd). have u ever seen a seagate/maxtor in a server or workstation, would sun ship them, would dell have swapped to hitatchi and WD from seagate if there was problems since they are priced the same

but your right worst makes it seam more bad than it is
