Sometimes there is a bit of confusion regarding our video card warranty so I wanted to come right out and clarify. If you live in the US or Canada our video cards come with a Double Lifetime Modder Friendly warranty. This basically means the video card is under warranty for as long as you own it and if you give it away or sell it, the second owner also has a lifetime warranty (helps with resell value). Modder friendly means we do not mind if you overclock the video card or change out the fan as long as the video card is not physically damaged and you keep the original hardware (in case you ever need an RMA).

Wow thats really good. Im glad i bought my XFX 8800GT now Not so much for the double warranty but im assuming the changing heatsink and overclocking part applies to the uk aswell.

No, we do not recommend any type of modifications that involve soldering. (if that is what you are getting at)

I just had an image of some of these guys getting out the arc welder and 4/0 cable hooking it up to a dedcated nuclear reactor to bump the voltage to the cards..

Well you would be surprised what gets sent in, but to answer your question for the most part yes; visible electrical mod, physical damage or I have even seen sever liquid leakage damage video cards as well, turning components into mush.

Yeah plenty of examples of "When liquid cooling goes bad" isn't surprising but that people bother to send them in is another story. Obviously falls under physical damage.

Any card 6 series and above is covered for the life of the first and second owner. If we don't have a card in stock it is replaced with the next card up in performance. Make sure you register your products to activate the warranty.

Outside of the US and Canada the warranty is usually two years and through your retailer. It does not cover all of the customization and modification that the US and Canada warranty does but I believe they are looking into it.

Yes your card is still covered under warranty. In the case that anything turned south we would need you to put the original cooler back on the card before we could service it. We have to have the cards in original condition so always make sure you save the original cooler.

Because of course a manufacturer still must honor a warranty even if the product were never registered. At least I am assuming they must, I know that they do because I generally don't bother to register anything.

Most manufacturers only have a one year warranty if it isn't registered soon after purchase because there is no way to track what the card has been through.

Other manufacturer's warranties only cover the first owner. When a customer buys a used card off of eBay it is common to reject the card if something is wrong. This will not happen with our warranty structure. An upgrade path is something we are looking in to but at this time there is not one in place.

When did the modder friendly thing start? I was going to rma a card with overheating issues due to the stock heatsink. I told them I switched out the stock and had put it back on to rma and they denied the RMA.

No, as long as it is properly protected they don't care what you send it in.
