    Is OSS deprecated and ALSA took over?

    ALSA did seem to take over. It's default on most of everything and some things work buggy under OSS

    xlink the newly opened OSS or the old open one? OSS does have drivers for cards ALSA does not and i'm not particularly fond about the way ALSA is beeing developed.
