EDIT---i have returned this powersupply being it has a problem with the primary transformer blowing up on ppl.i replaced it with a "channel well" built coolermaster real power pro 1250 watter and liked it so much i got a 850 cm real power pro for my air cooled beater rig.link below
    http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...d.php?t=189733

    hi,
    the thing is a BEAST..

returned 2 powersupplys so far. my 1 year old silverstone 850 zeus rev 1 (trash, fan died 11.4 volts on rails) and pc power and cooling 860(good but wanted more) .

its pushing the crap in ma sig quite nicely to put it mildly

simply the best $350 p\s money can buy.

I already had the tt750, so I put it in and I'm still running it.
I like to run a larger psu than whats needed so that it will run cooler, quieter, more stable and more efficient.
I bought an ultra x3 1000w but I'm going to wait and put it in my new rig soon.

    Yes it was a dxx.

I noticed an odd sweet smell every now and then, must have been the rosin flux getting hot.
And then one day it sounded like a firecracker went off in my computer.

I took some new pics, batteries going dead I had to shoot quick.
    Looks much worse in person.

Hope it doesn't blow up on the primary like so many others have.

Fugger suggests it because it's working for him, and that's good. And I have to admit that the majority DON'T fail, and that's good too. And as long as it doesn't fail, it's a good performer... but it's certainly not the best.

Sorry. I don't mean to be so harsh.

then what do u suggest johnny i have 20 days to return this plus $160 on credit at microcenter.thats $350 + $160 powersupply budget $510....must be bought at microcenter tho cause thats were the money will be credited.im thinking pc power cooling 1200 for $550???thoughts??

    at dark w-

"nice acquisition. Do you really need that monster?what Are you gonna run 2 9900gtx's?"

even tho i can run sli on my evga 750i im thinking am gonna grab a single 9900gtx and move my 8800gtx to my beater rig.im not a huge fan of running sli on my rigs cause %99 of the time my main rig with single beefy card can push solid fps in all my games of choice at hi res.im considering many things like grabbing another 8800gtx now and sli them up and pass on the 9900gtx.im not sure we will see acording to prices being this is a mad expensive hobby considering i just dropped $700 on my main rig(1000 watt p\s,e8400,750i mobo)and another $250+ on ma beater rig(pc power cooling 610,asus pk5-se mobo, enzotech cooler, mad fans)it never stops.......

If I were shopping at Microcenter?

Well... the best "deal" is the Channel Well based Aerocool Horsepower 1020W. It's semi-modular and only $249.99. Less money, quieter, smaller sized housing and a glowing blue fan (you seem to like glowing).

The Thermaltake Toughpower 1000W is based on another, higher performance Channel Well and is semi-modular and quiet and is only $339.99.

Personally, I would take either of these over the Galaxy.

If you have money to burn, the Enhance built Cooler Master Real Power Pro 1250W or Channel Well (no, I'm not a Channel Well fan boy, it just so happens that...) built Thermaltake Toughpower 1200W are about as hot-diggity dog as you can get. Way more than the Enermax, though.
