    Actually, I've Radeon X1950GT 256 Mb and it's enough for me. My friend is going to grab a new PC and he asked me to know what to choose from those cards.

    Yeah that card you have is good enough to play most games on medium or better (maybe). I personally prefer ATi atm becasue of the picture quality, yeah I watch a lot of movies as well as play some games

    Well, I can't say what settings I used as I don't remember them, but I can say they weren't the lowest.

    Well it wasn't really playable ( read = enjoyable ) so maybe I should count it as being able to run it

    Ok, but let's return to the main topic of the discussion. Should I get 8800GT or 8800GTS? Or 9800GT?

    i don't see them for sale yet either. they better hurry because the Radeon 4870 is going to be faster than the 9800 GT. i'm not sure about the 4850 though, which will probably be priced to compete directly with the 98 GT. the 4870 will probably cost around the same as a 9800 GTX.

    Are you really sure, that price difference between a new and an old 8800GTS isn't much? I heard a new one is noticeably more expensive, isn't it? Anyway will the overpayment be worth?

    Go with the 8800GTS 512mb (g92). It is the best bang for the buck card, availiable right now. Also It's basicly the same thing as the 9800GTX, minus
    3way SLI support.

    it isn't quite true, but i suppose it's close enough. the 8800 GTX has the older G80 core, lower clocks, and a wider memory bus.

    Am looking for one myself, but i read something about a '9900GTS' and '9900GTX' with something like a GT200 core?
    Read it here.

    Is this bull or are they really coming out around the summer?

    Also read here (in dutch);
    Something about 200 SP's..
    That the 9900GTX should get a 512bit bus and the 9900GTS a 448bit memory bus.
    With the 9900GTX 1Gig of memory and the 9900GTX 896MB of memory

    But most of the time it's just guessing what they do at that site..
    Anyone as some solid info on it?
