@NTVH : no need to go X48 mate, any P35 will handle any current CPU nicely...(unless you want to go flatout on Crossfire) since you got all those NB/SB stuff pick ya mobo wisely...
    Thanks for your advise.

The problem is just got the E8400 3.o G and want to see 4.gh but it's so rough. P5W DH give me too much ban to my head. Please advise.

In my days, there were few P5W's that did 440-450FSB stable, combine that with the extra strain on the memory controller due to the E8400... I'm pretty sure that you will have a very very hard time to get there... let alone be stable... Just for a quick comparison... on my P35 I'm currently burning in an E8400 at 3.6ghz at 1.1Vcore and 1.4Nb voltage, setup done in 15 secs... 3 hour stable till now... overclocking on the P35 is a breeze... Sorry to say but it's time to upgrade unless you settle for 400-425 FSB or such...

Try a higher MCH voltage but I wouldn't recommend to go over 1.65 (but that's up to you ofcourse)... keep ya ram in sync plz...

Question : Why do some overclockers switch into d*ckmode when money is involved

Remark : They call me Pro Asus Saaya yupp, I agree

Most decent P35 based mobo's do 450FSB mate out of the box... I own the P5K Dlx (dunno if they still sell it) works like a charm with 0812 bios with 45nm CPU's, DFI also has some very strong models of the P35... and all in the 100-150 dollar price range...

Boards that are famous here :

    DFI LANPARTY DK P35-T2RS

New Asus G35 mobo also works fab , though needs one of ya waterblocks :

Well it's not his Bios screenshot though an older bios version, on his new bios the virtualization is locked and no more EIST there on his rig...

Yes, it does but you misunderstood his post. He was showing a pic of the EIST setting and then said that he does not have the setting available.

I tested it on my board for my review at TechPowerUp. The cooler worked fine, but I had less than ideal contact with mine due to their base being uneven. Unfortunately, that's a problem with many exposed heatpipe coolers.

You're right. I thought he was showing us a picture of his own BIOS screen. That just made more sense to me that way.

Thanks. I'm hoping somebody else with a 45nm will check and see if we're all in the same boat. I'd certainly turn it off if it'd keep 2.66Ghz stable...

It's prolly a PWM controlled cooler so it only spins up at a certain temp level... Time to buy a decent one...

Sorry (I'm going off memory) - are there other options for AI Quiet? I know I had mine set to run at full speed all the time, but perhaps it may have been the BIOS version (mine was 2301).

    I rate the jmicron higher.

It seems when installing the jmicron driver it allows NCQ even when basic is set in the bios. Here is my problem below.

The intel controller can use either ide, ahci or raid mode. The latter 2 only allow write caching on raid configs. The ide mode doesnt support NCQ slowing down my raptor os drive. But raid/ahci slows down the other drives on the controller making things like gaming and multimedia worse.

The solution for me is to put the raptor on the jmicron sata port install the drivers and I get ncq + write caching best of both worlds. Run the intel controller in ide mode which works best for the other drives. The jmicron is in basic mode allowing the pata drives to run off it also. Some of the jmicron drivers are buggy with delayed write failures but that issue seems to be fixed on the last 3 driver versions now.
