my recommendation is set the CPU GTLREF to 69% and leave it there for a Q6600 'G0' cpu...anything above 70% on my board with a Q6600 made it flaky.

3.8 gigs of speed is pushing it for Prime 95 stable unless you pour on the voltages in MCH, ICHIO and Vcore...the other problem...475 FSB is at the very top limit for any Quad core cpu...it is the same for many X38 and 48 boards...quads are difficult to overclock the FSB...you are better off staying at 9x and running the FSB at 422 mhz for 3.8 ghz.

    It's a Q9450

Getting a Q6600 to 3.8ghz prime stable was a piece of cake.

My IP35 Pro is making an annoying high pitched electrical noise everytime I move the mouse. Is is annoying as hell and I am about to rip this thing out my case. I have poked around with a pencil and can't seem to find any vibrating coils. Any advice? Maybe which coils would be the suspect ones?

Im on my quest to get my Q6700 to 4ghz.

I have tried the following on Bios 16
    Vcore - 1.525 (1.4 in CPUZ)
    Dim 2
    MCH 1.48
    ICHIO 1.7
    ICH 1.05
    VTT 1.27
    GTLREF -69%

no matter what, it will not get pass the windows loading screen @ 4ghz.

Now, what I havent done is the bolt mod. I want to and I wish I did before installing the motherboard.

Another thing I noticed is my temps on the cpu on each core was 50-60c idle. Very high on watercooling. I am cooling my GPU too in this loop. Am I going pass the max in my GT240 Stealth? Seems to be so.

Opinions? I am using Corsair 800mhz on a 1:1 ratio. Shouldnt matter at 400fsb... but I have tracers in the mail.

first of all, you will need actual higher vcore than what cpuz is reporting...you will need to get it up to 1.50 or 1.52 ACTUAL vcore to get it into windows...there is a big disparity between what the bios set vcore and what is actual...your only thrust is to set the bios vcore or Uguru vcore to give you what you need in actual terms..don't get wrapped around the axle about what is set in the bios or uguru

Yeah I read about vdroop, I just got it to show 1.51 in BIOS voltage readings and it still wont boot into windows.

cpu is very hot now, I think that is my limiting factor. I disabled C1E and EIST.

Right now im testing 400x6, stable as hell. Im going to keep bumping it up and see what i can find.

For the sound, check the little metal box that contains the ps/2 mouse port. If you squeeze it with your fingers, does it go away? I had the same problem (though it wasn't real loud), and I ended up putting a binder clip on it to quiet it down mostly...

Yeah 61-63% seems to be the best for the DFi boards. I tried going as low as 61% when I was messing with the GTLRef's on this board, but the lower I went the more unstable the board got.

    Going on...

with my Q6700 quest to 4ghz.

This is at 3.2 400fsb. my ram is limiting me to around 415 fsb (waiting on my tracers), but Im just simply raising the multiplier now.

I messed with all the voltages, but now I am thinking my temps are a main cause. This is at 3.2

I think is this maxing out my 120.2 radiator GTS 240 BI.

    Opinions?

So what is your CPU GTL Ref on this board (IP35)?

I am running my Q9450 on this board, but it requires much more vcore (1.36v in BIOS) to reach 3600MHz than P5K-Dlx board (1.28v in BIOS).... and it is way hotter ....

This is my first Abit board (after one bad exp. in the past - 10years ago)....

    It's at 71% atm (475x8).

But every chip and every motherboard are different. So what's good for me may be miles away from what's good for you.

Is GTLREF better to have at greater or lesser values? I thought the lower it was, the more stable the less voltage the CPU needs to OC?

P.S. My Dominators went tits up and will have to be RMA'd. Glad I kept the oCZ Titanium CL3's for back-up.

The noise is coming from inside of the case. The noise is also very noticeable when there is any hard drive activity.

Nope, it is passed NewEggs 30 day return policy. How is Abits RMA process? Where should I begin? Will they cross ship?

i have read a few posts and the cross shipment is expensive until they receive the bad board back.

BTW, doesn't newegg have an RMA process for one year on certain items?...have you checked your on-line order, which requires a log-in?...it will tell you what options are available.

Provided there is no rebate...if the UPC is gone, so is Newegg support. Foud that out with my Dominators.

    Hi Guys,

Does anyone else with a Q9450 have a problem with the temp reading? Mine is stuck on 51c whether it be read in the BIOS, uGuru, etc...

Also does anyone have any idea as to what the latest beta offered? - shame abit never advise what they are changing/tweaking in the beta's.

    Cheers.
