Stop beating a dead horse it is noted that you can not afford this MOBO.. Move on....
Not angry, amazed LOL! I think the Striker is an even worse RIP Off. It is noted that I can afford this board and would buy a Skulltrail first though if I were in the market for something higher performance. The problem is I don't like wasting money on something I think is meant for suckers, hehehe! > < Now I understand why the manufactures think Enthusiast means more money than brains.

For the extra coin over something like the Abit talked about earlier, 2 more Frames is worth what again? What 525MHz FSB over 545 FSB is worth how much again?

For that we should thank BOTH (AMD and Intel) companies!

Question : Why do some overclockers switch into d*ckmode when money is involved

Remark : They call me Pro Asus Saaya yupp, I agree

Dear Mr. Peter Tan - Where is my BlackOps?

Been waiting eagerly and patient for this MOBO but to the best of my knowledge it's not available anywhere. I am about to give up on this board and go the ASUS WS Evolution route... ...disappointed...

Foxconn's highly anticipated BlackOPS motherboard based on Intel's X48 chipset was apparently just paper launched back in April. Thanks to a hint from one of our readers, we took a closer look at the e-tail/retail market just to find that BlackOPS is something like a myth, at least for retail.

Foxconn had officially announced the release of this motherboard back on April 18th and we are talking about the motherboard packed with high end stuff, such as an 8-phase digital PWM, four different chipset cooling options and much more. It is something that Foxconn liked to call an extreme overclocking board.

Back then, Foxconn's press release stated that it should be available sometime in April. Guess what, April has passed and even those fortunate people who can afford a $400 motherboard just can't buy it. According to our info, first samples should arrive sometime during this month, but the reasons behind the delay remain unknown.

Thanks goes to our reader, Tom.

And the response to above is here

Foxconn delays stuff due to its “un-synchronization”

We had rather interesting comments from people very close to Foxconn, and this moment of truth actually explains why the stuff gets quite delayed.

The delay, according to our valuable sources, is due to the company's un-synchronization and the company's Research and Development, and especially the Marketing side is moving much faster than the Manufacturing and Sales sides.

Both of these sections have different priorities and perspectives and due to the past “robotic” work that they (Foxconn) are accustomed to.

Our sources believe that this won’t change until the internal infrastructure is changed. This is something that we’ve seen since Foxconn went to the channel market and started doing graphics cards and motherboards, but due to its bad synchronization it failed to seriously threaten any of these markets.

We hope that the company will see this as its wake up call.

Asus P5EWS64 Evo was present on Asus site more than a month before it got listed at any retailer. And after it got listed, it took two more weeks to become really available. So Foxconn delays are no exception.

And what is better? A P45???

    Dont make me laugh.

They are in stock in the UK:

But in comparison, the MSI that I got is over £120 less:

The Foxconn is still a nice board for those with deep pockets full of cash though.

    One bit reads:

Meanwhile, the BoostSwitch header, conveniently located on the motherboard near the CPU socket, enables hardware selection of CPU clock speed without entering the BIOS.

Is this really more convenient than entering bios? Asks the, capital "N," noob overclocker.

Could this be used to bypass intel possible blockage of overclocking in anything but extreme chips?

It has two DDR2 slots and four DDR3 slots with a selecter card that you plug into the type of slot you arent using.

So while using DDR2, you plug the selecter card into the adjacent DDR3 slots:

    http://i118.photobucket.com/albums/o...v/DSC00057.jpg

OCZ Flex II fits nicely with the selecter cards in the adjacent slots as they are only a single PCB.

Overclocking is hardly affected by this, I have gotten my ram to 1200 Mhz, FSB at 500 Mhz, but it is difficult getting the ram to that speed and requires a full day of stressing to get it stable. Once it is stable, it is good for as long as you dont touch the bios. If your overclock crashes and you need a CMOS clear, book another full day to overclock DDR2 ram to 1200 Mhz lol.

It was painful losing my 1200 Mhz ram clock after killing my overclocking by trying to set my CPU to 4500 Mhz, but I am slowly getting back there.

I can use OCZ Flex II for now which was only £99 for the best DDR2 ram available, and upgrade after DDR3 prices fall. Currently, 2x2 Gb of DDR3 1600 Mhz costs like £300-400 which is far too expensive compared to the Flex II. Cas 7 1333 Mhz DDR3 is going to be slower then my Cas 5 1200 Mhz, I will need at least 1600 Mhz for a worthwhile upgrade now. Worthwhile for playing with that is, not for actuall PC performance. Overclocking is my fun

But if you have the money, by all means go for the Foxconn and DDR3 if you want to. I couldnt afford that much

I just bought mine from the egg about 5-min ago. Not bad for the price of $400.00 compared to my Asus Striker II Extreme that cost me $550.00 from the egg as well. They gave me a full refund because of the problems they are having with that mobo. So $400.00 OTD is a steal in my book with all of the stuff you get. Only problem now is I have 2 9800GTX SSC cards.. I am going to try to trade one for a 3870 X2... I just hope this board does better then the S2E in OCing without the headaches... Fingers crossed...

    Ouch ...

You could use one 9800 GTX for now and wait for the 4870 X2 in a couple of months.

Or you can just be impatient like me and buy 3800s right now

$359 on the egg now is a pretty good deal versus all the problem of the Striker II for $459...

Cant wait to see how the P45 does. Is x8/x8 CF still okay or does x16 finally make a difference?

edit: just noticed that Foxconn claims its P45 has dual x16/x16 pcie 2.0 in CF mode?

Yep if the rumored 4870 is indeed +20-30% faster than a 9800GTX, then sell one and hold onto one then get two of them for CF in a month or two

From benchmarks, there is zero difference between 2x 8x and 2x 16x PCI-E slots, so the only determining factor between P45 and X48 should be how well they overclock as well as the price. From what I have seen so far, the P45 is dissapointing, its better to just get an X48 or if you are fine with a single graphics card, the P35.

Yeah, interesting to see that this time around the X48 is the better OC'er and the P45 is the right spot when it was flipped last time for the 3's
