I checked the QVL for rampage and those sticks are not listed. Neither were mine though, but micron D9's are QVL for rampage.

At this point it doesn't matter what 9600 memory you're going to use, 1200mhz is not achievable with this board yet due to immature bios releases.

with bios 0207 i was only able to achieve 1132mhz.

with bios 0308 I am able to achieve 1164mhz.

So it is getting closer....I would check with kingston and ask what chips they use because this board is super duper picky with mem.

first off, it is 600MHz or DDR2-1200...no such thing as 1200MHz DDR2.

second, are you forgetting my screenshot above. D9GMH/D9GKX have absolutely no problem clocking well past 600MHz on this board....you simply can't with your kit of memory. stop blaming the board, there is nothing wrong with it.
i don't quote in my signature, but best WR ever...

Why is your everest showing x38? is your board a maximus flashed to a rampage?

Beware, there are differences. a NATIVE rampage board is not the same as a maximus, or a maximus that has been flashed to a rampage.

can you explain the differences to me then? x48 is nothing but a re-labeled x38...

yes my board is a maximus flashed to rampage btw... and by the way it performs... it might as well be labled x48 (guess im lucky)

Right now I'm not exactly certain the full differences, but there are differences. Everyone that i've talked to that is using a native rampage is using completley different bios settings to achieve certain clocks and memory OC'ing.

If i were you, i'd flash back to a regular maximus. To me right now, the only true difference between the rampage and maximus is the rampage has more quad core tweaking options and possibly more memory tweaking capability however,

rampage boards are natively designed for DDR3, so using DDR2 is all backwards compatibility.

If the D9 chips have no problem clocking that high how come my D9's are walling?

are you using a native rampage or a flashed maximus?

and what other kits have you tried (9600)?

    NB 1.41V

    RAM @ 1080mhz 2.20V 5-5-5-15 (tested with 1:1 ratio 900mhz)

Stable on memtest with a boot CD
    Stable on memtest XP

Unstable on vista memtest + OCCT and games... Every hours got a BSOD : Memory management

Single sided ballistix pc8500 do not work very good with this board from what I've read. You might need to rma for different ram.

I am finding this board really picky on 800mhz+ memory. I can't find the QVL for this board for 1066Mhz ram. Can someone point me to the link? I have tried some patriot and some corsair memory and haven't been able to get the board stable at either 800 or 1066 (and this was with 1066 ram). I am now using two 1GB sticks of 667mhz kingston and the board is rock solid.
