The most basic parts would be:

    1/3HP compressor or better.
    Condenser
    2 evaporators
    Cap. tube.

    Check this out, http://www.ocforums.com/vb/vb/showth...hreadid=241697

It's not a dual evap, but this should help.

if u want to run a dual evap from one compressor I would go w/

    3/4 HP or 1HP com
    condensor
    2 evaps
alot of time to size the cap tubes

For the gas I would go w/ R404a-2nd coldest on list, R22 warmest on list or if by any chance u have some R502-coldest of the list but has been baned for awhile now

but if u a have a EPA lisence i would go with R22 its very cheap and gets the job done i thinks its 5C warmer than R404a and 15C warmer than R502

Come on, 3/4HP or 1HP? That's overkill. He's only adding a gpu which doesn't put out much heat. Nunez1980 from the OC forum built a dual evap cooler with a 1/3HP compressor and got -50C on the CPU and overclocked his 2.4C to 4GHz.

A 2/3 and 1HP compressor would be as loud as heck and would be overkill. They use 1HP compressors in house ac units.

Edit: This was with r22 btw.

R507 is also a good refrigerant. I've seen it go as low as -70C.

since its a direct die it must use a cap tube but i think gray said something about if u run the evaps in a series u can use a TEV

It filters out water and other things that you don't wan't in your refrigerant. It's also a good place to atatch you cap tub/s.

i don't know the com but i do know that using a pelter is'n worth it on a phase-change sys a pelter losses it capacity when being cooled below zero so it starts to act like a piece of copper but it may give alittle bit of extra cooling so if u have the pelt and a psu on u now go for it if u have to buy it than i would just go w/ stright direct die cooling

The problem yours will have is stability, balancing the temps on both evaps and capacity
Dual Evap. With suction control and capacity control... You want to stay away from a total captube system on a dual evap unless you want them the same temps and they both have the same capacity

well twin evaperators with cap tubing works great.but .......unless you know how to tune a cap tube system.they can be a pain.

i have built twins and triples, and can contol the temps to each one if you know how to properly tune cap tubing.
for the most part.at no load they will be the same temp(within 1 to 2c)but getting them to run loaded is a differant story.the differance in heat loads changes the temps and the rate of gas return to the compressor changes.

do it isnt easy by no means.

but if done right will walk over any exp valve design.but because most techs have never spent countless hours fine tuning a cap tube system..they would never know.

my single compressor system runs -71f no loads, and under a full benching sesion i can maintain a cpu evap temp of -60f and a gpu temp of -64f.
this took be coutless hours and refirgerant before i found the perfect cap tube lenght, and i started heating the suction return tube....yep...heat..

anyways you can do it with cap tubing.will be easier with a valve thou.if you can mount it.

I don't use TXV's on anything below -50F or 2psig. The drawing has a Pressure Expansion Valve on the CPU and a captube/Evaporator pressure regulator on the GPU as well as two interstage heatexchangers.
Heat? What are you using for heat and why??? Not enough pressure of too little superheat?

heat, you mean you have never seen heat used on a system?
i thought for sure you had see that before.

    thats a old old trick.

sorry bud didnt mean to lose you,i was refering to a old trick.it not in any tech manual, but it is one of the ways i can drop the temps on a system.
there are so many tricks of the trade older refrigeration guys used.and i for one would like to spend a week with Gary Loyd.i know how to keep my mouth shut and listen to the older guys.you may have to listen to 2 hours with of old tales.but you may learn a 5 sec trick that can save you hours.

i will anser the pm bud.

Usually If I need to add heat to a system I install a heatexchanger and use that to subcool the liquid line. But I have never added heat to the suction line as in other heat. Where does the extra cooling come from if you are adding heat?
