Currently, my card is at 850/1025Mhz (855/1031Mhz) with the stock BIOS. Any higher on the RAM and I can see yellow artefacts in ATI Tool's Artefact Finder, although these are not detected. Overdrive in CCC gives a blank screen with the core at or above 865Mhz.

Is there no solution to modify the stock BIOS to get higher voltage and to remove the clock lock?

I couldn't find any... original bios is locked... u can save it using Winflash and edit to raise voltage, but it will be sticky at 860Mhz.

Sapphire use the same qimonda memory so u shouldn't have any problem, here is running smoooth

Doesn't Sapphire also have Quimoda? I don't have any trouble running HIS bios on mine, but if you have no fan issues then I guess it does not really matter.

    one thing..

the 875/1250 bios file is a .sb file.

do I need to rename it to 8751250.bin or will it work as 8751250.sb ?

    regards,

    Haakon

You shouldn't need to rename, but it will be just fine if you do and you can use .ROM as extension.

Cool, I have to try volt modding mine too. I'll have to wait untill tomorrow.

I have a triplex with samsung chips that does 801/1177 fully artifact free, and max stable with artifacts is 801/1285.

Is the bios modding easy? The last time I bios modded was when I had SLI 6800's. Stock speeds were 325/600, max stable was 425/900!!! So I modded them to 400/800.

    Time for more fun XD.

Buy a fan controller and cram the connector into one of the FC's headers. It works. Over time you might fry the fan controller's resistors so by a cheap one. I've done that both of my 3870x2 and it works great. The only thing (like I said) is that these fans are not electrically equally to a standard case fan so it might bork the FC over time but so far, so good with mine

    Used a Sapphire 3850 512MB DDR3 Qimonda Bios
    Ver 71 Unlocked Bios 1.22V ( http://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/2...12.071108.html )

    + Editor to set 1.22V 2D and 1.32V 3D And now I got 1.38V in Multimeter

Can it be possible to flash that BIOS to Asus EAH3850 with Glaciator [picture here: http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...&postcount=813]? Pencil mod is working, and I reached @ 1,38V that 862MHz core wall.
Flashing with ATI WinFlash is not possible, because of different part numbers or something like this. Should I force-flash it from DOS? My BIOS is 64kb large while that Sapphire BIOS is 61kb, but PCB is AFAIK the same.
