I can assure you that a 9800 GTX will fit in a Nine Hundred. I just spec'd a system for a buddy of mine and he has a pair of them sitting in an XFX 780i board living in the Nine Hundred. He says he's not sure about fitting the third, but that the 2 fit with no problems.

Thx guys for the responses...will post pictures of the build when it's done...
Question : Why do some overclockers switch into d*ckmode when money is involved

Remark : They call me Pro Asus Saaya yupp, I agree

    Fitting a third 9800 ??
What in worlds name needs 3 cards with that capacity?
I was about to buy a second 8800 Ultra but asked myself what game I could NOT play with my current hardware....

IMHO: two 9800's are already overkill... let alone 3 of those puppies...

Step 1: Remove the faceplate on your optical drive
Step 2: (Optional, but advised) Attach a piece of adhesive velcro to the drive tray (I used the "hook" side because it provides more surface area for the glue you will be later applying to bond)
Step 3: Line up the foam padding with the drive tray lip and make sure you have a good fit. If you glue the front panel on crooked, you are out of luck. Trace a square on the back of the padding so you know where to apply glue.
Step 4: Apply glue on the rectangle you just traced and apply to drive (hot glue is not advised, gorilla glue is). Then coat the edges if you feel like it. Keep in mind that if you do coat the edges, you will have to watch for drips. Some expansion will occur after drying, so you might have to cut off any excess with a razor.
    Step 5: Allow to dry
    Step 6:????
    Step 7: PROFIT
    Thanks

    Front Fan Filters? o.O

Guys, does any of you use filters for the front fans?

I've tried to install a couple of filters to see if they were thin enough for the drive cage but with no luck. I really need to put some filters on because it's collecting dust like a vacuum cleaner.

I tried the generic fans from Newegg, and the anodized aluminum filters. I'm thinking of making my own filters, lol.

this system was built with overkill in mind. He gave me a budget of $3k to spec out a system. He originally wanted 3 8800GTXs, but that was most of the budget. ended up with a xfx 780i, Q9450, 4gb ram, 2x xfx 9800gtx's, antec 1000 psu, 1x 320 wd system drive, 2x 640 wd storage drives, 2 dvds (burning disc to disc). Says it all fits nicely in the Nine Hundred, but he hasn't got around to sending me pictures yet.

You dont... I ended up breaking one. I think if you put a lot of pressure forward you might get it without breaking anything. Once you release the rear clips then put pressure sliding it forward. There are a few screws too.

Hope that helps... I wish they made the design better for that.

Dude, seriously. Have you ever heard of Crysis? It needed 3 8800 Ultra's to be playable on max settings. And don't think we won't see more games like that.

there are a couple of screws you have to access from inside the case. It's been a while since I had the top off, but if I remember, they are in front of the big fan. Once those are removed you just have to manage the clips. Not that difficult if you take your time, but most people overlook the screws.

I alway smake some of 3M abrasive sponges... pretty thin and they collect dust nicely, yet don't hinder airflow that much, normally next week I'll have the case and I'll take some piccies for ya mate...

Thanks for the heads up on the screws guys. I also overlooked them. I was able to do everything that I wanted to without removing it for now. I will have to though when I pull it all apart to paint it though.
Here is pic of it so far.

After you remove the two screws there are 4 clips. The two rears are easy. The fronts take a few stabs. After you get the top off drill access holes for easier access to the front clips for your next adventure lol.

Hey all who installed 8800, 9800 GTXs. Do you have the 120mm internal fan cage assembiles installed? I know they will fit without, but I want to keep mine in. TIA!

Very very nice there Bubbaxm2. When you paint really read through Painting 101. If you have any questions let me know. I have learned a lot. I will post pics as soon as my clear drys. It's beautiful already. Although the wiring was very difficult and is a bit messy.

    @ Moe; 2 ultra's to play Crysis ?
Did you connect the powercords to either of them ??
I run Crysis (full) on 1 ultra. No need for a second (or even a thrid) card...

    No go
The 8800's (and 9800's) are too long to keep the internal 120 fan (with bracket).

You could install that 120 mm fan on the sidepanel (like I did)

Thanks! I am going to take my time with the painting for sure. I want it to last and not scrape and fall off. I know what you mean about the wiring being difficult. This is one of the harder cases I have ever had in terms of cable management.

    Welcome Hyacco,

I searched for a picture on the web and found this:

Here you can see the 2 (little silvery) screws on the right of the big 200mm fan.
You need to unscrew those, then (also visible on the photo) you need to push the (black) clips outwards (at the edge of the casing). You can see 4 of them on the picture. 2 of them are above the harddisk bay(s), those are really a pain in the butt to get off... but it can be done; I took mine twice off already.

    Good luck

    @ all others:
roaming the internet to find the right picture for Hyacco, I also found this picture:

Not really my cup of tea, but I have to say: nicely done. Unfortunately it does not say who this case belongs to...

    Thanks Leeghoofd

I don't think airflow will be a problem, cause I'm planning on putting fans at the back of the drive cages, even if I don't get the plastic framing from antec... I'll just drill the holes to mount them. That way we have a push-push air duct effect on cages. Only one that won't be able to install a back fan will be the one with the HD, no biggie though. :P

ANNOUNCEMENT: I'm selling my 3 stock black Antec 120 Tricool Blue LED fans for $9.99 each. They are in "like new" conditions, less than 4 hours of usage. My case theme color is red, so I'm not gonna be using blue except for my zalman 9700 cooler. Interested PM me for more info.

Got a new blackberry pearl and Im trying out the camera which isnt too bad at all. Its not the best but the pic quality is way better than my prev phone. I got my new E8200 processor. Had to pass on the Q6600 as the wife was having a cow about the cost.... Anyhow I was going to get the Scythe Ninja Rev B. but the company I ordered it from for 39 bucks was out so they subbed the Thermalright Ultra 120 xTreme at the same price which I couldn't pass up!
