Probably going to join the team. OK if it is only a 2.4ghz P4(oc from 2ghz) only running at nights.

Just download, install the client I assume and set it for team 36363? Is it ok under 32bit XP?

Just joined this morning. It's been like 12 hours since the 3850 512MB (I understand that counts?) started folding.

I'm curious.... how can I compare to see if it's running as fast as it should be? I did the visualization thing and it reported 75 iterations per second. Is that good? Is that bad?
I saw this morning (6h after I started) that it was at 43% for the first one.... 4300 / 10000. Is that good? Cause I kinda get the feeling that it's not soo good.

Oh, well... guess I'll poke around here for a bit and see what other info I can find.

Wish I could help you on that but I don't know unfortunately. I have an X1950XT so no GPU2 client here. But, I can still say

Welcome, and thanks for folding, and particularly for choosing our team!!

A couple of things you can do to monitor progress and performance.

One is get FahMon - its a nice tool, and very intuitive to use. Use Cntl-B to examine benchmarks.

Another is to right click on the F@H tray icon, then status/log file. This will show you an audit file of the client's activity, all nice and timestamped. From that, you can determine speed of each frame, the project numbers, etc.

Armed with that, you can ask around here and someone with the same/similar rig can give you some comparison performance numbers. I can tell you with my NV 8800GTX running stock speeds I'm getting about 1:37 per frame on project 5004 for 4266ppd.

Again, welcome to the team and

    Thanks for the welcome!

Ok. I'll install FahMon when I get back home. Where can I see how many ppds I'm getting? Maybe this can finally push me over board to spend a little more money and get a 4850 or 4870. But I have to wait for the price to go down a little and I have to find one with some good cooling. But one of those suckers should fold just nicely.

    EDIT: @home.

FahMon doesn't work. It doesn't read any work in progress...

Here's the log file. Maybe someone can tell me how I'm doing and maybe tell me how to do the calculations myself?

So, what? Nobody knows how to see how many PPDs I'm doing on a GPU2 client?

    wu 4731 = (193 points) = (100 frames)
    89 sec per frame * 100 frames = 8900 sec per wu
24 hr per day * 60 min per hr * 60 sec per min = 86400 sec per day
    86400 sec per day / 8900 sec per wu = 9.7078 wu's per day
    193 point wu * 9.7078 wu's per day = 1873.61ppd

fahmon needs to be pointed to the folder which holds the log file. it's in your profile, not the install folder. then it should read it.

but if you need to do a manual calc, use the simple formula above as an example. just input your new wu value and new frame times..
