Hi JamesBong420,
what do you understand under high fsb? I can go up to 530 fsb stable with the 16b10 bios. (I have reached 550 fsb not really stable, but I think my ram is the limiting factor).
work:
abit IP35-Pro
Q6600 @ 3.6GHz 9x400 1.55V)
Thermalright Ultra-120 Extreme
G.Skill 2x2GB @ DDR2 800 4-4-4-12
2x9800GX2
Corsair HX750
play:
abit IP35-Pro
E8400 @ 3.6 GHz
Corsair H50
G.Skill 2x1GB @ DDR 800 4-4-3-5
Gigabyte 460GTX
Seasonic S12II 380
i will have to try 16b10 then. if u look a few pages back i state that the chip is capable of much more then 500 fsb. which i am stuck at. i can boot up to 540s but its nowhere stable..![]()
Well I've run the Corsair Dominators up to 1160MHz, tried 500FSB x 8 and everything else I can think of...this CPU won't be stable past 3.8GHz regardless of RAM settings, divider, voltage (up to 1.38) or any other setting I can find. Any speed above 3.8 results in Prime or Orthos immediately failing. I can boot XP and run SuperPi at 4.3 GHz, but forget stability above 3.8. The Q748 batch just sucks.
At least I have a really fast 3.8!

My Q748 can get over 4 GHz easily when set to 1.455V in the BIOS (runs at 1.42 under load, 1.38 idle). Granted, I'm running mine on water so temps aren't a problem for me.
My temps are not a problem either. I just don't want my Vcore over 1.38 out of fear of frying a $225 Intel processor. I guess a 27% OC isn't bad...it just hurts to see so many E8400 owners at 4 gigs running stable at 1.25 Vcore.

After updating to official 16 bios, I can feel my 2x3870 crossfire performing much worse than before, anyone with similar result? or its the new catalyst 8.4 which ruins performance specially in world of warcraft?
lilke I said some pages back , I'm going to complain abit for not letting out a 1600MHZ fsb compatible bios! I heard Asus even updated their 965 to 1600 lool!! but Im sure asus has made its p35 mobos compatible with 1600.
Im going to buy a q9300 will it work on IP35 Pro? if not is it any good to swap my mobo with maximus formula guys ?

cpuz reads almost spot on for Vcore on the IP35 Pro board...not so for my gigabyte X48 ddr3 board; it is about 0.05v difference...
protecting your processor from to much voltage is really a personal comfort zone about how much should be applied...it all depends how much investment you made and how long your objective is to keep the cpu.
i take the tactic of let it run until it stops and then replace it with a new or used cpu...i try not to run absurd high voltage but i do probably run it higher than most others are willing...i don't do 24/7 operations so i will use slightly more Vcore.

is the PWM heatsink still effective if you cut the heatpipe into sections like that?
i want to use my MCW30 on my NB, and I have an HR-05 SLI XFI from Thermalright for the SB, but I cannot find a compatible 3rd party cooler for the PWM. are there any? if not, custom seems to be the only option

So my IP35 pro is topping out at about 454fsb with my X3350. I've got the NB at 1.52v, can I go higher than that or should that be about my max for 24/7?
Also, I've currently got 60mm fan blowing over the NB, and the PWM is passive and getting to about 60C with 1.35vcore loaded at 100%, should I think about a fan over the PWM at 60C?

when it comes to CPUz and Uguru, you really don't know until you can measure the vcore right off the board with a DMM.
VID is not followed by abit unless you set the vcore to auto...some of the bioses were programmed to set VID if it is in "Auto"...the only bios that did that for my QX9650 was 16.B04...VID for that processor was 1.04v

I measured the vcore on my board and while some of the bios's get cpuz to match the vcore I know the 17 bios doesnt on my setup and one of the others didnt also.
However uguru and bios itself matched dead on with my mutli meter.
The one you gotta watch out for is the vdimm as that isnt really read correctly. What you set in bios is what you get plus .01 to .03 under load. Uguru and other devices including the bios monitor dont read it correctly.
Are Intel's suggested VID range is 0.85V – 1.3625V, the same as the Vcore settings in bios?

Hey guys. I've been trying to get my Q6700 past 3.4Ghz for a while now. These are my current settings
10x340Mhz FSB
Bios: 14
Vcore: 1.4675 (in bios) 1.43v in cpu-z and 1.37 load in cpu-z
MCH: 1.25
ICHIO: 1.5
ICH:1.05
CPU VTT: 1.2
Dimm: 2.0v
1:1 divider
4-4-4-12 timings (ive tried 5-5-5-15 as well)
Any suggestions on getting to 3.6 or 3.8?
I've bolt modded, lapped both HS and CPU. so i dont have to worry about temps much.
