8800gtx sli crysis crashes everytime.
Hi guys
I have two xfx 8800gtx xt 600 950 stock with a Q6600@3.5ghz
175.74 drivers and crysis crashes after about 10 to 15 minutes of play with the 175.12 it was within minutes what happens is the screens sort off flashes but i still can see the game then its a black screen then i have to use taskmanager to end the not responding crysis exe.Im playing it in Dx10 window vista 64 sp1.
I thought it might be a mem problem so I brought the mem back to 900 same problem used atitool and have no artifacts with the cards at there stock 600 950 looped a test in 3dmark 06 one hour without one problem. Also turned off ntune that I use for fanspeed still same problem its starting to get on my nerves. One weird thing is after the driver crashed and i kill the crysis exe i can use windows again without problem except sometimes this wierd flashing will happen after I have exited crysis and have to reboot to get rid of the problem.

1) Are you running the latest patch for crysis ? v1.0 and 1.1 ( if I recall correctly ) had issues with SLI.
2) It looks like driver problems. I'm using 174.88 here and it works like a charm. Some people reported problems with 175.12 & Crysis.

Im using the latest patch 1.21
-
Try the 174.88 drivers.
They work for sure ( as I've been playing with my cousin for ~3 hours without a single glitch/issue )

Oh you're on Vista ?
I thought you were using XP.
Gonna check later on with other drivers in Vista and report asap
-
Ya im on vista I put a fan on the nb of my mobo and it took longer to crash do you think its the nb overheating? its in the 50 60 degress when gaming that doesnt seem to high for a P7N diamond. And im only suppose to use one sli connector correct?
-
Yes, for 2-way SLI you only need 1 connector.
Do you play any other ( demanding ) games apart from Crysis ?
Maybe it's not an isolated ( Crysis-related ) problem ( maybe unstable overclock ? faulty RAM ? )

I think I firgured out the problem I was running the game in DX10 I just played it In DX9 mode threw gameexplorer with the modified veryhigh cvars and the game runs much better looks the same and has not crashed on me in 2 hours play.I also noticed there arent any white dots when you enable AA like in DX10mode I guess crysis DX10 is still very buggy.
