    Tuniq+Watercooled Laptop

Well seeing as the new section needs a few threads to get it started, I thought I'd post what I got up to the end of last year with my laptop!

    http://xtreme.digitalreport.net/content/view/22/1/

I've since got a little bit of a bug for laptop benching as you'll see from my hwbot page. I know someone put a LN2 Tube under their keyboard once...don't know if they overclocked it though!

    Thoughts?

    Yeah just about...

    http://xtreme.digitalreport.net/imag...ch/lappy/3.jpg

Had to plug in a monitor, keyboard and mouse, and hang the computer over the side of the table so I could press the on/off switch which is above the keyboard near the hinge!

    What fun...

The trouble is finding a clockgen that will work. I have benched a lot of laptops but not all of them are overclockable.

Can't remember, this was a while ago. I did have the patio doors open and it was December - I remember my thumb going number as I held the watercooling block down!

I have two PC's as well. One is benching and testing rig for Digital Report reviews, and the other is my day-to-day web+surfing rig.

Thanks! As I said, I can't remember temps - don't think I looked at all because the BIOS obviously doesn't let you increase voltages and I don't know how to find vcore mods etc.

The CPU could have gone a lot further but the laptop hit a brick wall at 120Mhz FSB and 200Mhz DDR1. I don't know which was responsible, but it wouldn't go 1Mhz further, after being 100% stable 1Mhz lower.

I took all the world records for the CPU and GPU, and this was even before I knew about LoD and other tweaks!

Thanks for the support guys, I appreciate it

No it wasn't, I had a standard PSU plugged in running the Corsair Hydrocool unit and a fan controller for the Tuniq.

Anyone else felt like running a few benchmarks becuase of this? I notice a couple of my hwbot records for other laptops have dropped a position or two since I posted this thread!

It looks like you managed to bolt the tuniq tower to the mobo... make a hole in the table and you can use your laptop like normal again

Not bolted, it was just resting on the NB and GPU. No holes are/were drilled!

    That's ok then!

I have the same thing at work - all free imaging sites like Imageshack are blocked so I don't see any photos.

Not that... I didn't see the picture in the first post and your link didn't work. First time I've ever run into that problem while at work.

Pretty sweet mod, not the first thing you would imagine a laptop to look like, but we're not here for the common stuff - you can find that at your local Best Buy.
