ICH10 has more differences, it now supports 6 SATA drives running in ACHI, ICH9 only supported four. ICH10 removes more legacy devices then before, it's supposed to use lower voltage also, integrated wireless LAN...the full specs should be out soon though.

Are you sure you don't mean ICH8 supported 4 instead of ICH9? I remember one of the improvements in ICH9R was that it could do 6 drive RAID arrays, surely it can do 6 drives in AHCI as well.

If that GA-G45M-DS2H is going to be real kick ass board and no such Vcore droop like GA-G33M-DS2R is having then I´m definetely going to upgrade my HTPC´s mobo.
