What fudge Intel?...why couldn't they create a new info string for ICH10 without adding it to ICH8/9

I refuse to participate in any debate with creationists because doing so would give them the "oxygen of respectability" that they want.
Creationists don't mind being beaten in an argument. What matters to them is that I give them recognition by bothering to argue with them in public.

To the three posters above....yes, these drivers will work with ICH9R and ICH8R. I'm using X38 with ICH9R in RAID 0. The drivers work just fine.

    Schweet!

But I'm still wondering where in the hell I can enable NCQ, can't find anything conclusive on the net.

ncq is enabled by default on intel chipssets if the harddrive supports it and you are running sata/raid mode.

Of course you might also have to jumper your hdds correctly.

Wonderful. I've read before that it's enabled by default, problem is when I check the discs via Everest, it only showes them as "Supported", not "Supported, Enabled". I just checked and found out that the Raptor indeed has a jumper field, I just have to find now how to set it to NCQ enabled I guess..

Edit: Checked it, there IS no jumper setting for Raptors to enable NCQ. I guess there must be another way to enable it. The controller already runs in AHCI mode, so where is the darn switch to enable NCQ. Will try the new chipset drivers later..

Thanks a lot for this heads up. I too was never able to enable the write back caching on any of my drives. These drivers cleared that issue right up. So far no issues with installing, booting from, or having my drives recognized in Vista X64. Definitely keepers for me. I love how they come with the loader files too.
