    My new E8500 still on air

    Just got this yesterday and i'm loving it so much better than my E8400.

    Test bed:

    E8500 Q748A221 pretty close to c1rcu1tburn3r's E8500
    Xigmatek S964 (aka OCZ Vendetta)
    Asus P5E3 Premium (BIOS 401)
    Cellshock 1866 Blue Kit
    8800GT
    Corsair TX 750W


    SP2M 4.0 Ghz Vcore 1.25V




    SP2M 4.1 Ghz Vcore 1.25V




    SP2M 4.2 Ghz Vcore 1.25V




    SP2M 4.3 Ghz Vcore 1.3V




    SP2M 4.4 Ghz Vcore 1.35V




    SP2M 4.45 Ghz Vcore 1.35V




    SP2M 4.5 Ghz Vcore 1.4V




    SP2M 4.55 Ghz Vcore 1.4V




    SP2M 4.6 Ghz Vcore 1.45V




    SP2M 4.65 Ghz Vcore 1.45V




    Will put it under water tomorrow and put more volts on it thanks to Dan aka Irev for such a great CPU

    Planning to get it under dry ice or LN2 anytime soon ?

    The E8400 I have here benches on air with the TRU120E @ 4.7GHz ( Spi 1m & AQ3 ) but that's at... 1.7V

    very nice chip indeed metro .
    my Q748A benches easy 3D on air @ 4.5ghz with 1.48vcore .
    E8500 are really fun to play with , though its fsb that keeps most off us back

    Yes as soon as i finish this mobo review just in case i kill it under Dry Ice (not probable but dont want to ruin the review).

    Yes for LN2 you are FSB limited, for Dry Ice i dont think so

    can i ask what these will do 24/7 compared to the e8400?? will they both be about the same or will the e8500 still perform better?? i like to bench but i will also be using this for everyday use. thanks
    upgrading...cooler master cm690 case, corsair hx850, samsung 1tb x 3, optiarc burners x2, gskill 4gb ripjaws, working on the rest again

    What's your ambient temperature ? With sub-zero air you should gain at least 100 MHz.
    My SPi records:
    Conroe E6600 @ 3600-3605MHz on P965: 1M - 13.860; 4M - 1.14.719;
    Opteron @ 2700 MHz - 1M @ 29.453s

    what kind of load temp are getting with such frequency and air cooling
    2600K working in 4.8 GHZ so far

    2600k @(4600 Ghz) 1.42v : (under water)
