Didnt install the fix yet since it only says it fixes 'No AMD CPU detected' thing. And I dont suffer from it lol.

But well, Ill just keep it by BIOS clocking. It's still possible that by a next realease of BIOS or AOD version it gets messed up again and we all RMA our hardware en masse.

The resetting is mainly because of your setting files. Check over them and switch AOD Assistant off.

damn, it seemed to run prime ok.. and was stable for over 6 hours in total then i decided to turn it off and reboot once cold. i left it on idle for about 30 mins and opened firefox.. bam bsod nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

so i have bumped ht voltage to 1.5 and nb to 1.46 and will test this out now.. is overdrive stresstest more accurate than prime because even though its prime stable i still get the bsod?

    Crossfire X has landed

Thanks to Sapphire I now have 2x 3870X2's to run up on these boards, first tests on the DFI 790FX as Sapphire sell the same board re branded (as we know) so what you see here will be the same on their board also.

Short on time tonight so this was a simple run with Phenom at 3GHZ, NB at 2.2GHZ and 8000 Reaper X at 1066 1.8V 5-6-6-24 (test 1066 AMD modules) so in short, if you get a good Phenom and hit 3GHZ and set the system up as I have, you should see close.

    3D06, 1600x1200, 8xAA, Anisotropic Filtering.

I will tweak this a little in the hope I can easy get 15k. The default settings run had me around 16k+ but as we know CrossfireX has its strengths in higher res tests...hence 1600x1200 eye candy all on.

    more soon.

You sly product plugger, you Looking forward to your results.

It would be interesting to show retail sales of the B3 after this thread.

Side Note: Props to OCZ and PCPC for putting out some great PSUs.

I am consistantly suprised to see the crap powersupplies people on this forum are using. They drop $$ on new CPUs, cooling etc then run it on garbage.

    Those are some nice clocks!

I hope AMD can keep pushing out better chips, hopefully we'll see a comeback, even if it is slow.

    No idea man

CPU is stable just over 3.4GHZ, screenies at 3.5 and utter suicides at 3.6

Remember this was first yield, as it gets better we should start seeing 3.6 stable maybe more

I'm current checking if 9x NB/HT (2115Mhz) is stable and I got a crash watching South Park at stock volts (1.25v/1.27v). I bumped up both by .04v to be safe, but do you guys think the instability is related to the NB, HT, or both? I remember reading somewhere that the 790 chipset is an HT beast so voltage rarely has to be raised. What kind of HT voltage do you guys run and at what speeds?

    Hi guys
well i got the rig back up to running at 2.808 Mhz this time iam using 13.5 x for the cpu a small bump to the fbs 208 1.31v and the just the feel of the rig is a lot more smoother this way the just 14x to the cpu to get to 2800. must be the faster ram speed and ht link speed . Ran the AOD stress test for a hour than ran 3dmark-06 run 13900 with my 2 3850s than took it strait
to running the demos for 3dmark-06 no crashing so if stay good this will be my day to clock speed for this rig. cpu idles at 39 -40 c under load 53 -54c
using $14.00 dollar rosewill CPU cooler RCX-Z940-LX fan speed at idle 1100 rpm under load 2300 rpm so not to bad on the noise from the cpu fan got it at newegg been using for over 6 months now.

if you try this cooler notes i had to bend the mounting brackit a litte to get the cooler set right in the middle of the CPU and the big fan that hang off the side of this cooler will sit right over your frist ram spot on your DFI LandParty DK board so you not be able to use it . what do you want for $ 14.00 dollars hehehe.

good psu no warrant for high reliability, in fact my old HX620 is the reason why i switched to intel (was silly to buy an AMD system back in december ).

else i would use a 9850 by now

and yes, people run their systems on crap, just like a friend of mime who didnT belive me that his 500W chieftec PSU was crap until i got him a 330W seasonnic S12II which was capable to run his system

maybe i'll join the phenom club in the next month because i'm going to sell my board+cpu to my dad (overclocking on intel is no fun for me, i hate northbridges with a MC....)

hope to see some more high-clocking B3s, good luck with your chips

The PC-PC 1kw only cost me like $420 at my local Microcenter. I like it much better than the 750w silencer I put in a computer for my brother.
Not much to say right now.
