For me still 0904 is best and most stable BIOS:

With most of the bios versions i have used ram is the problem i can run at 6-6-6-20 2T 1600mhz but rated speed is 6-5-5-18 1333mhz which it never does any less than 20 on the last number and will not boot errors ram on lcd poster. I don't really under stand too much about the sub timmings so i leave them on auto . The thing is they are never stable with any bios over 1600 but will boot into windows up to 2000mhz 9-9-9-30. The ram sticks are ocz reapers cooled by a 120mm fan so they dont get hot but no voltage makes them stable any more than ten to fifteen mhz over 1600 at any of the latencies i try. Also not all of the dividers boot/work i have tried 0904 1001 1004 and now using 1007 which stiil seems to be the same even up to 2.1v. I think the ram has more in it as at 1.9v will boot into windows at most reasonable settings 7-7-7-20 1800mhz will boot as will above but not stable. Sorry to go on but i am running out of options is it the ram or is ram a problem for most?
program used for most of the testing it memtest 2.01 iso and orthos short runs on the blend test to verify fail.

Hi guys,
Some information:
The 0904 bios, doesn't read negative temps. Minimium temp read is 7º.![]()
Today I updated to 1007 bios and only read at -6º.
Unfortunately, not tried with other bios.
Regards,
anyone had any problems with the Q9450 on this board? fought with it for the last 2 days using the 1004 and 1007 bios...was hanging and rebooting randomly while it kept stressing as stable.... Came home today and it was hard locked...yanked the cpu threw my q6600 back in and had to fight with it for 15 minutes to get it to post finally. the 9450 is on it's way for a replacement with intel and it seems fine with the 6600 back in...maybe just got a crap cpu?

Please, could somebody tell me his settings in the Extreme Tweaker section of the bios? i use a Qx9650, corsair 1800C7DFIN, and its constantly crashing, as soon as i try to set memory higher than 1333, thanks from a noob.

Had to RMA my first Maximus Extreme back to ASUS.
Got another board and got to work trying to get it going.
Found that the Fusion block leaked.
Good thing I use non-conductive coolant or this would have been a giant torch.
In cleaning up the coolant from the board I removed all the heat sinks and found that none of the heat sinks had any thermal tape or paste.
Just bare medal.![]()
Called ASUS and got a second RMA.
Hopefully the third one will finally work.
For you salts you probably know to check everything out on a returned board.
Do not assume that ASUS has even the slightest Quality Assurance.
Check the cooling block for leaks before use.
Remove the heat sinks.
Check all caps and slots for looseness.

i think about RMA too, it seems my board has problem with PCI frequency ... with overclock PCI frequency is not 100MHz and my GeForce dont work and crashes ... it is 100% PCI frequency related, because at 100MHz is system stable many hours, with 110MHz crashed games in few minutes ...
Tested with many GeForces ... the same. Board will go to RMA
I am sure if i set 100MHz PCI at 450MHz FSB ... real PCI clock is not 100MHz but higher and my cards are unstable ...
i tested with 904/1001/1004/1007 - the same result

Are alot of people having problems running Prime or other stress tests for 8+ hours? No matter what I do I can't get this things to run Prime95 for more than 1 hour. Tried endlessly on a bunch of different combos.
Just curious how many others are having this issue??
If you did have this issue but fixed it, some advice would be most MOST appreciated!

I got rid of this board ... and i'm glad i did !
So ... now i'm back to DDR2 and a nice rampage formula that does 590+ fsb benchable .
After testing 4 Maximus Extreme , 1 Gigabyte X38T-DQ6 , 2 P5E3WS , 2 P5E3 Premium ... i came into the conlcusion that there are no good DDR3 boards (at least for my needs which is high fsb benchable/stable) . 3 months time lost while trying to bench over 550mhz ...![]()
Actually, i got my whole PC pre-configured that way, it runs stable on these settings, but i wanted to run my Rams at DDR3 1800, because they are specified for that, and they were expensive enough. Now they run on very loose timings in DDR3 1333. and i think its wasted money, if the memory cannot run as fast as they could.
