my gigabut boards killed 6 stix in 6 months 2.24-2.26v "2 dead boards in 3 months"
my last 1 did 575 fsb but bios voltage optionswas bs
i been on dfi 4+ months not 1 dead stick same psu same everything
gigabyte x38 was a nighmare for 24/7
only good for benching i did 580fsb on air
benching is fun dinos but it gotta be good for 24/7 too for we mortals
gigabut rushes to put out the boards n idiots like me rush to buy em![]()
odds are i will but a p45 but odd are 2% in gigabuts favor favor if i buy another gigabut board

right
well have a look at the screenshots mate
most of my benchmarking is done with those volts (2.4-2.8v)
i have not killed a single stick to date
however i know that those models you are referring to are not the best voltage regulation wise and they are certainly different cattle of fish to these DS3P boards
Last edited by dinos22; 04-15-2008 at 07:10 PM.
i think 2.4-2.8 is safe for benching
i've pumped 2.8+ into some value ram n they still kickin
well i paid 225$ for the p35c-dsr3 the day it came out i doubt the ds3p has a better vdimm voltage regulator than the p35c
anyways i gave the board to my son promos chips dont mind the bad vdmm regulator
gigabut rushes out to produce the boards i wont be no gigabut guinypig again

do you think the boards with the P45 chipset will surpass in terms of CPU/mem overclocking the X48 boards?
If this thing has ICH10, why does it have 2 Gigabit LAN silkscreened on the board instead of 10Gbe? Not worth the time of day without it.
lol seriously now how many ppl use 10GB lan and WHY
why increase the cost of a board for a feature most ppl will not benefit from just yet![]()
If the 10GB LAN is the only difference,it surely isn't worth the upgrade from X48
OMG!...you're not serious, are you?...the term 2 Gigabit LAN referes to the TWO Realtek 8111C LAN chips, as in *two* separate LAN chips which feature a teaming option to double the troughput.
Have a look at the 8111C specs:

I won't use wireless lan,I will go only with one HDD,so these improvements do not mean a lot for me.Those extra features are a little overkill and a lot of people won't use them.
I was interested more in the overclocking region.
first thought was ip35 pro, then noticed the rainbow dimm slots LAWL
~
For overclocking performance sit tight and let some beta testers start flashing some results that we can digest.
BTW has anyone credibly heard of the latest P45 chipset availability/shipping date yet? And i dont mean the boards.
looks promising, can't wait to test one![]()
Are the Hidden BIOS setting still in this board? Its quite a chore having to unlock it everytime.

Ever since later X38 BIOSes, the only hidden settings are ones which very very very few people (aka 1 in many million) ever need to even know about, let alone change.
All overclocking settings are immediately available including all RAM timings.
I don't mind hidden settings, i mean...how hard is it to hit CTRL+F1??

Hi mate
I think i've overlooked this questions
This motherboard supports true PCI Express 2.0 standard
in Crossfire it will operate at 8x + 8x which is plenty for just about any card(s) on the market
P35 chipsets were mainly taking a hit in performance due to 16x + 4x >>>> that 4x was really starving the second card and performance and multiple card scaling was very poor.
I remember Asus introducing a patched solutions on some of their higher end P35 PCIe first gen. boards and performance was very good as they were running on 8x + 8x but now P45 chipset is also moving to PCIe 2.0 so these chipsets are no longer going to be useless for Crossfire that's for sure...................you will basically see bugger all different between 8x per slot compared to 16x per slot
...
