I'm only trying to have a stable PC.
Your CPU is different. I think the problem is the CPU.
I have changed the CPU from a E6600@3.0Ghz 100% stable for folding on this same board and now I can't put the Q9450 to work. I have the last BIOS (1226)
Right now i don't now what can I do more to solve this

    Same here.

My NB is at 1.45 and FSB Termination at 1.4 with an E6300 to be stable effectively.

P5B Deluxe seems to be a board that will run for a long time since they have a real high FSB comparing to most or all boards.

Has anyone run Quad? and does it run great on this board? I'm thinking about getting a Quad soon since Vista and Games are getting bigger.

    Thank you.

I have reinstalled XP 64 bits with everything at default and it is working with a pair of Team Group RAM well below is specs.

It will be nice if you can put some screens from your bios.
I hope ASUS releases a new BIOS soon.

I have managed to have the pc full load for a few hours but afther the updates and a reboot it crashed again.

The BIOS is not oficial or is it? I have made the download but I will wait a few more hours to see if anyone give any feedback.

Right now if you can put here the stock settings and I will go from there.
We have diferent CPUs so we can't have the same values.

At least one BIOS is out.
When I install it I will report.

    Edit:
I have tried to update the BIOS with ASUS Update and It have not installed

    Well well well.

Like I have edit my post I could not install the new BIOS with asus update. I'm still on the 1226

I have changed the settings like yours only with this changes:

Memoy voltage mine are default at 1,8-1,9 so I have 1.9
Vcore I have put 1,2. It droops in full load (I have not made the mod). I was with 1.4 to have 1,36 under full load.

In the CPU settings with have you have vanderpool technology in gray mine is in blue and I have it enabled. The rest I have disabled and I will see what happens.

Edit: I that a look to the asus foruns and I'm not alone with problemns with this MB and this CPU.

    I was to late
I never have updated the BIOS that way. I will tray at night.
I hope it fixes my problems.

Make any difference that my board is the P5B Deluxe and not the P5B Deluxe AP/Wifi?

Can you confirm that the BIOS I have downloaded is not corrupt?

    Thank you.

Well I was running my X3210 on this board for a short while. Got it up to 450 x 8 WCG stable, but the power reg circuits take one hell of a beating, get hot as hell. All depends on the cpu & the voltage it need to run at your oc.

I really suggest getting another board for a quad. But on the other hand, if you get a Wolfie, it should fly on the P5B-D.

Yes it can run a Q got mine at 450*8 and got Super Pi 1m to run at 480*8 but if your not much of an OCer 450*8 should be good if your temps are okay as im on water

I have 3 2X2GB Kits with me. That one from Gskill, one from Corsair and one from Team Group. The one I'm using right now is from Team group that have a voltage of 1,8-1,9. But you are correct about the Gskill. I have used with it 2,1V but the random crash is the same.

Yes, but you are using a Yorkie, has lower VID & runs cooler. If we are talking a 65nm, they tend to not run as good on the p5bd.

If you want to see how stable your rig really is, run WCG 24/7 & see how it handles it. Running Pi 1m doesnt show anything about stability unless your going for max oc.

Yes I have run memtest on all the kits. This Gskill KITT is the second I have to test. The first had a problem.
I can't relate the probelms with the mems. I have tried multiple settings, run with SPD enabled also.
Lets hope that the new BIOS will improve this. If not I will change board. For 3.2Ghz (mems will be 1:1 without OC on it) I'm thinking P5K or P5E. I want to have 4X 2GB on the board and will have full load all the time so I don't want a big OC.

This one is 45nm. I really think my problems become from the board with this setup. This same board have run a Q6600@3.0Ghz 24h full load for at least 6 months

    That is wath I need
I have no trouble running 1M Super Pi.

    LOL whats WCG

and if he wants a Q theres no point going with a 65nm Q if they need more volts and have less L2

and I ran my E6400 at 3.6GHz at 1.55v 24/7 F@H and need to get the lowest volts on the X3350 it was like 1.35 for 3.6GHz ran small fft prime for 6hrs but havent really had time to find out what speed I want for 24/7

also the vdoop mod is easy you should do it, im going to redo mine as this Q makes it drop on load cuz my dual core didnt, and + I did it like in 9-2007

i'll post all my bios settings so you can try

Yes. 4 cores at 3,2 for folding 24H. In Portugal the summer is hot so with air cooling I want a save margin. I need most is stability.

Thanks. But me big question remains. Your CPU is different from mine. The problem is the cpu.
But put your screens because if a few hours I will be at home and I will change the BIOS and test if all works. I really hope so

I have upgrade the BIOS to 1230 with ez flash 2. It was easy.
    I follow this instructions.
I colud not resist and have put the CPU 3.2Ghz with the FSB 400. That is my goal. It is running OCCT. Lets hope it will work ok.

I confirm that now boot go all the way without the message "Unknown CPU detected, BIOS update required to unleash its full power".

One problem that I have and need your advice is about the voltage of the 12V, 5V and 3.3. The BIOS displays one information, the OCCT. With the multimeter I have diferent values.
In my OCZ 550W I can regulate the lines but wath should I take to guide me?
The last question is were do I measure the 3,3V with the multimeter.

LOL why do you say there different there the same just mines a Xeon and c1 thats the only thing different I might need less volts but thats about it

well whats showing in windows, what are you using to read the volts ? and I have to look to see which wires you need to read the 12v, 5v, 3.3

oh yeah its still running at 1.160v full load 3.2GHz on 4hrs

I have config the volts in BIOS and now in Windows in OCCT is very different.

The multimeter for the 12V and 5V line is ok. The 3,3V I have not discovered yet. I will stay with the values from the multi.

It as run OCCT for one hour without problem but after 20 minutes folding and doing other stuff on the PC it as freeze
I have look at the board and mine is from the same revision as yours so I really don't now what to think.
I probably will buy another board. Maybe the P5K because it is cheap.
