Something weird about my bandwith scores, Read should be the highest but in my case it's Write and Copy...

    Anyone have seen this scores?!

The same here, but with a little lower FSB (445). Try to play with Performance Level

    @Clunk
For 65nm chips it's GTL REF=67% of VTT.... What % is for 45nm chips :?:

Same thing happens with others OC levels. Regarding Performance Level, seems to me that i can't manage a PL of 7 above 400 FSB, only 8 if i want to put it manual on bios.

It's hard for me to believe that this is as far as this board goes. With my ex-Maximus Formula SE i would get much higher OC and bandwith performance then i get know with DFI...

Why can't we make 1200mhz on Ram with 4GB?!...

    JohnMike,

I see you are using 4x1gb of pc2-9600 axeram. I have 4x1gb of the pc2-8500 flavor, and I'm having difficulty posting even at the default timings and speed of 1066mhz using all 4 sticks. What NB, CPU VTT, and Ram voltages did you require to run your 4 modules at 1100mhz? And do you have GTLREF adjustment enabled or disabled? Thanks!

Last night i made a OCCT torture test and it passed the test. But then i tried with Prime95 blend test and it fail after 2 hours.

I'm going to raise the VTT/GTL Disable to find out if VTT is to low... I will give feedback later.

its good to see someone elses settings to compare.
i had to up my cpu vid to 1.47 and dram to 2.35 in order to get prime stable.
it worked though ,before that it was crashing after two hours, i just ran it today for 3hours with no probs.
i read on anandtech that it was best to disable T2 dispatch. i cant remember why , but i have it disabled .

Thanks a lot for posting that info JohnMike.

Hmmm...I'm running my setup at virtually identical bios settings, except I think I had the fsb at 445 instead of 460 and I used a 8x multi to try and focus on ram stability. I've varied the NB and CPU VTT volts quite a bit, although I don't think I've set the CPU VTT volts to more than 1.39ish volts. And I increased the ram volts up to 2.23, the same as what you are running. Under these settings, I cannot even post. Also. I see your PCIE clock is set at 105mhz, whereas I have left mine on either auto or fixed at 100.

I essentially can only post at the board default settings (I think RAM speed is either 667 or 800 mhz at default) or slightly higher- up to about 900mhz- at which I can pass a round of memtest. Any higher will either not post or fail memtest by test #5.

Thinking that 4 sticks were to much to deal with right now, I pulled out two to see if that would help. But alas, no love. Still more or less the same memory ceiling.

Could having the GTL REF voltage control set to disabled be a big instability issue? Or are any of the memory settings left to "auto" as listed in JohnMike's post so tight on the auto setting that they could lead to instability if not set to manual and relaxed a bit? Anyone have any ideas? Thanks for any suggestions you could offer.

im amazed u gys can get 4 modules going at such a low voltage. i need atleast 2.35 otherwise it crashes.
i tried reducing it slightly and it crashed during prime test.

Well I tried several settings regarding voltage and VTT/GTL but the majority failed running Blend test. I think that i made it fine with VTT/GTL on manual once.

Seems to me that this board is very hard and has less tolerance on ram compared to other boards like Asus can handle.

It dependes on your ram performance and how much can your sticks can handle. My Transcend 9600 4x1GB tops with this board at 1160mhz... Above this it fails.

With 2 pairs of sticks (2x1GB), it can handle 1200mhz just fine.

Are you sure that are the rams the guilty ones?

I would try first to lower the multi and check the highest FSB possible (100% stable) with each and every strap, and then, after, raise the multi and try that FSB again.

If it fails, then it would be obvious that is the cpu...

Anyway, I would relax a the

    - Enhance Data transmitting: FAST
    - Enhance Addressing: FAST
    - T2 Dispatch: Enabled

    - Clock Setting Fine Delay: Agressive

It could that that the issue is about these settings.

Another thing I would try as well, is to swap the position of the dimms, and try every combination. Since you have 4x1GB, the system becomes much more sensitive to this issue.

I want to ask if someone has this combo:

DFI LP LT X48 + Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme + Coolermaster Stacker 830?

Considering that the cooler can fit only horizontally, can you put the fan bracket or not? This is very important for me!
I know that if this fan is mounted vertically(which on this mobo is impossible),you can put the 4 fan bracket, but remove the one from the upper left.

    Thanks in advance.

When mounted horizontally, you can use the fan bracket without a problem. I got mine to mount vertically but I had to grind the a cm or so off the rear facing corner of the top shelf on the NB HS. I ended up moving it back to horizontally for better airflow through the NB HS. I have it passive using the fan from the TRUE to draw air through it.

    Hi,

I have a stupid problem with this board. 4 of 5 times when I start it up for the first time every day it not boot. I cant even reach bios (it stop just berfore that) then I just push restart button and all work as it should!?
Is this a bios issue or something else?
I pass all stability test so I guess it is ok but I have this stuped thing one time every day!? For the moment I use bios 0320.

I have not run memtest but I know these sticks easily do 1250MHz with right djuice. Do you know if this mobo undervolt the DDR voltage? I use 2.1V in bios but the software just read ~2V.
I bumb it up a bit..

Slight over volt here for me 2.19v set = 2.21 fluctuating to 2.22v

    CN

    Edited : 2.1 ~ 2.2 to 2.21 ~ 2.22 reason = finger fart

I have that set, only 4 gigs worth thou and not 8, and I've had a lot of problems with this board since i bought it. I do have a new chip, E8400, a new BIOS, and I'll be working on seeing what these sticks can do this Sunday.

I have had boot issues with almost all of the straps other than 333/1066. I don't have another board to test the modules in so atm I'm uncertain as to what's the culprit.

On some sites, the UT version is starting to appear, and available to preorder. The question is:do you think that with the Thermalright heatpipe cooling and a NB cooler which is much little than the one from the LT version, will the Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme fit without a hitch?

    Thanks in advance
