I have a quick question. Is there any difference buying this ram in packs like 2x1GB or buying them separately 1GB + 1GB sticks. It's still the same ram right, in terms of overclockability?

Matched pairs may have gone through more testing for compatibility at dual channel.

Do they even sell them in singles?

As noted, they are not sold as Singles.
However, and I'm not certain or have direct knowledge: Dual Channel Pair was an issue at earlier days, but not today. i.e you stand a better chance today of an unmatched pair working mostly ok , might be an issue at the extreme thogh (makes sense).

I've currently got my Crucial 10th Anniversary kit running at 1:1 with my FSB, ie 471.4mhz, with 4-4-4-5 timings. Would I be better off pushing for higher clocks on the memory, or leaving it at 1:1?

the rule is that X MHZ = Y Timings . i.e Higher clock @ slower Timings = lower clock @ faster Timings.
The actual numbers vary.
You could use Systool or other basic benchmarking tool to get an idea, you'd better create a graph ( with 471 , small delta , big delta ) to get an idea what to expect.

The issue is Voltages. I heard that DDR2 doesn't like > 2.2V .
results posted here don't tell what happens over time.

please post results and data .

thx & GL

I bought my brand new Anniv. modules individually on EBay this Spring. This company had dozens of Ballistix & Anniv. ram listed, selling them one by one. I bought two and they work fine in dual channel mode (but no chocolate ram module .

In fact, this are tremendous ram. They run stably at 1066 MHz with 4-5-4-4-12 timings with only 2.1v (maximum on my P5B m/b) with my maximum overclock of 533FSB x 7 = 3720 MHz. For everday use I'm 450FSB = 900 MHz ram @ 1.9v with 4-4-4-4-10 timings. They actually run fine at stock 1.8v at 900 MHz, but I raised it to 1.9v, as it probably won't hurt them.

My 4x1gb AE works really 100% stable on 1000mhz 4-4-4-4 on blitz formula, and needs only 2,14v, PI32M stable needs 2,10-2,12v . Earlier on p5kdlx needs about 2,25v. Quite good sticks for 24/7 using.

Just put in my ballistix 667 cas3 2.1v. These should be similar to the 10th anni's? May not be as "handpicked" but otherwise, should be similar. They're double sided so not the higher density ic's in the newgen ballistix. That said, I've just retired my old fav: buffalo firestix pc2-8000. The d9gkx treated me well, but it's been downhill ever since I owned them mid-last year. I've ran them with pretty much 2.06v the entire time, and they slowly degradated. At first, they'd do 500 4-4-4 2.06v tight subtimings. Then it required more voltage, so I settled for 450 4-4-4 2.06v. It did that fine, but now has loads of trouble booting up at stock. Or rather, on the dfi p965, stock is at 1.9v, so it even has trouble with that. Finally got tired of using booster sticks to get it going, so I threw in these cheap crucials, which I imagine are gmh.

Haven't really tested much yet, and don't intend on pushing hard for a while until I get my ip35e back from rma. But they are doing 450 5-5-5 2.06v fine at the moment (didn't think it'd have trouble, but nontheless)

not too bad mode1/1 fast/fast sure helps a lot. I'll settle

edit: should note that I've always had either a 120mm blowing, the ocz cooler, or a generic house boxfan blowing into the chassis. I've got a thermistor in the middle of one of the sticks, and readings never exceed the low 40's. That said, since they're only touching the heatspreaders and not the actual ic, actual temps are a bit higher, but still better than the 60's I see if I don't have cooling to the ram. Wonder if I'll ever have a pair of d9gmh/gkx that'll stand the test of time with 2.06v...

edit2: dropped timings down to 4-4-4-10 tight subtimings like before with the gkx and still 2.06v and it's run 15 test5's so far. Looks like a winner to me !!!
