Segate is fast as usual with high transfer rates,but high access times compared to WD,samsung..Those access times (in the review above) are very much higher than single platter 7200.10..

This 320GB drive, just like WD's 3200AAKS, is optimized for noise over performance, hence the ridiculous access time.
You can expect the 640GB+ models to be 6.5-7ms faster.
