A couple processors appear to have gone bad on there own?
I would have to say, "Allegedly", as I wasn't there. I have run these 2 e8400's for 3 months now both at over 1.5488V with no problems. As recently as this week I set new highs on 3D marks and 32M pi.

Contrary to popular belief, "The Sky is not Falling".

Keep them cool and they are just fine.

What do you know of the failed system?

My ? is, what temp did it run at ? idle and load.

How do we know that the guy wasn't running it at 1.7 or higher half the time.
I have found when hardware goes bad most people blame it and just lie about how it happened.
I work on these systems daily. 90% of those who bring me their dead computer have no clue what is wrong and yet they still tell you some B.S. story.
rather than just say they screwed it up.
I have found a penny lodged to the motherboard before. I have found the motherboard and vid card and the whole inside of the case to be sticky from the pop that was spilled down the top fan
hole but they deny it to this day.

My fav. is the guy that called me cuz his system would run for just a few minutes and then restart over and over til it would not go into windows before it would reboot.
I asked him if he kept his case clean and free of dust as this would build up and act as a thermal blanket over the heatsink and processor. He got offended over the phone'
and told me his system was perfectly clean and was regularly cleaned. He hung up on me well the next morning his wife asks if she can drop it off for me just to look at. She needs this computer badly. So, I tell her to drop it by and I will look at it that evening.
    This is what I found!!!

Yup just another piece of junk computer that had been a pos for along time.
She knew it was bad cuz it had a stupid Intel processor in it.

Yes it is a Dell with a 2.8C in it. That was over a year ago and it is running fine for them today.
Their 14 year old cleans it monthly as she just loves it...

First Rule it is never the USERS fault, Ever!!! When hardware fails....
Well I chew people's asses regurlarly. I do not need their F'd up systems to make a living so I call them like I see them!!!

And as a rule when hardware dies prematurely it is HUMAN error!!!
whether they admit it or not!

Data sheets mean nothing to me!! what do you expect Intel to say?? They do not want to replace any more proceesors than they have to. They want ti void every warranty possible and so on and so forth... Yey they build you a mother board that will according to their own data sheets, wipe out there precessors. I take all that with a grain of salt

Brahmzy you should have no probs with that just downgrade it with Asus update. By clicking the appropriate tab under options. and just do it in windows. that is how I always perform the task.

I'll just keep running fast and free thankyou.
