i used mx-2 on all of the componants on my board so tx-2 should be fine since they are the same compound

    Thanks!

Well I saw some guys complaining about hiegher temps after doing this (PWM reinstallation) on the X38 thread. Dunno if this is something solved...

I will buy the Watercool Heatkiller I have a report from Dimek that the MIPS has a 'tiny' project fault: they made the thing with a extra surface to 'try' to cool the CPL's also and that made the temps fly in the sky. So if you use Mips for Mosfets you better off with nothing or using a diferent loop for that.

    The Watercool looks like this:

It costs EU29,99 +(tax) and was made exclusively for the X38, X48 and P35 version so it wont touch the CPL's...

if u dont have a backplate for your spu when u redo the paste then u will get higher temps, if u have a good backplate then u wont get bowing so u wont have anything to worry about

Maybe you right - backplate would be nice, but IMHO it will not solve MIPS's "CPLs problem"... It does not refer to Watercool Heatkiller as it does not cover CPLs...
I didn't say MIPS is bad, but - I had quite high PWM temps using Quad@3,6GHz/1,45Vcore - with E8500@4GHz/1,37Vcore is ~20oC temperature drop at PWMs).

Don't know if TX-2 is 100% nonconductive but it is suspicious if it's grey and is compared to AS5. You'll need something nonconductive since there are LOTS of bare metal protrusions around this area, sorry for the technical terms . I only put paste on the the chips that were previously covered. My thought process was that the HS didn't appear to touch anything else, so why bother. If someone can confirm that it actually does touch some of the other chips under there, i'd redo it.

ughh... can you explain it again for me? What is an CPL? Is it the same like mosfet? I am planning to buy the DFI X48 and the complete MIPS DFI x38/x48 Mainbaord Set. Did I understand you right that the MIPS mosfet heatsink is not cooling very good?

No they are excellent but I wouldn't use the Mosfet Freezer in the same loop as the CPU (if it's a hot 65nm cpu or you planning to run it extreme oc style).

It has an extra spacer that cover the CPL's (2 big chips next to the PWM area).

And those things really are supposed to get hot.

But unfortunately for us in US Mips is the only option for water cooling that area. Watercool won't ship o US

I think it's ok to cool them with a heatsink (but dunno if you would benefit in doing that because they are made to endure the heat), I only don't like the idea of a watercoolling block touch that area too.

somebody knows the measurement exact of this area ?

I'm thinkin' put of these microcool heatsinks in cpl chips 'n this area of cooler to help to cool the pwm chips !

i find the 3dmark06 scores for this board simply amazing

    basically
    maximus 3800mhz 400x9.5 = 3482
    this board 3800mhz 400x9.5 = 3515

tested it 3 times.. and always get the same result..

How is everyone getting active cooling to their PWM block, besides water? I have the TRUE so space is somewhat limited but i'd like to get some airflow through there. It's not hot down there but every little bit helps.

I think my board is toast. The code on the LCDs is 88 and never changes at all. I've tried the EZ cmos clear and tried to manually do it with the jumper about 10 x now and nothing.

I'm one of the few that is not able to get the board to post with more than 1.26v to the cpu and this is with different cpus mind you. I thought to myself maybe there's a dead spot or something so i turned it up to 1.4 in the bios and it hasn't booted since.

    sigh...

Hi m8 i also used mx-2 on the pwn/nb and cpu, is there any chance you can give me your pwm temps at load and idle or do you know what the safe temp range is.

hi guys, I ordered this mobo (LT version) which should arrive any day plus I bought already the CPU which is an Intel Q9450, my question is which brand/model of RAM do you suggest me to buy since my plan is to go for 8GB RAM, and I am willing to OC the cpu aswell, any tips is welcome, thanks in advance.

Hey all, I have a P35 T2R, and tbh im pretty happy with it, but ive seen these (LT version) pretty cheap, and seeing as I always love new hardware to fiddle with i just wanted to know how they compare?

Is it worth giving it a shot. It should cost me too much after selling my P35. Also, seeing as I'd be getting the LT version, I may well watercool the NB. Would an MCW30 fit on there ok?

Thanks Wilson, are those 25's or 30's? How exactly are they attatched? I see the black zipties holding the inside ends together and the white ones with the female end sticking out. Did you use another female end to cinch it up on the back side of the case?

Can I get a definitive clarification on the temp readings in SG? Chipset=NB or SB and System temp=PWM or a sensor near there?
