I'm getting core temps much higher than my E8400 also. Not sure if the cpu is actually running hotter or this is a diode anomoly...or perhaps the thermal diode is actually working properly on the e3110, while was not with the e8400?

My e3110 temps go up as I increase the FSB, while the e8400 temps would only increase with voltage increases and seemed impervious to MHz.

I have the same batch as Eldonka Q746A535 and I have settled in at 4.0GHz with 1.31v, which has load core temps of about 55C.

Same here, I used E8400 the temps on Xeon E3110 are way too high when dual prime for ten minutes then E3110 reset it self when temp hit 91c. I never had a promblems with E8400. The damn chip behave differently it idle at 48c then at Load increases by 4 factors in seconds..... I though these Cpus are the same? Xeon chip are in fact superior processor chip (server) What are the thermal Threshold on Xeon E3110? The E8400 @ 72c.......I'm really stumped on the Xeon

Yes my core temps are on the roof as well, but this problem doesn't seem to affect the overclocking capabilities. Also the temp of my mobo is not that high and the air going out of the case doesn't feel that hot either. This make me believe that the diodes in my CPU are broken or the bios is not reporting the temp correctly

This high temps reported by the diode will make the CPU throttle down?

With a 120 Ultra Extreme my load temps are 60C,,,but no way is the air hot or the heatsink feels like its getting that hot......

    got the following from tankguys.biz

    Q805A165

have it currently at 3.6 on water (p5k-e wifi all voltages set to auto), coretemp reports idling at 42, realtemp reports 33. orthos for an hour has realtemp reporting max of 37. waiting for arctic silver to settle in before going any higher.

realtemp sensor test says the sensors are stuck, it's also showing both cores to have the same temps and they rise/fall at the same exact rate. kind of strange as my e6400 cores were off by a couple degrees.

Recieved today. VID according to DS3 is 1.150.
This is not optimized, just entered 1.25V in Bios, hit save 'n' exit and started prime. Guess there might be some room for lower volts.
Uhm, don't know what's up with the temps.. i reseated heatsink 2 times, thermal paste looked well, heatsink is getting just like handwarm.
I guess my sensors are f*cking with me

    This looks promising.
Need to find out the DS3 Vcore measurement-points. I want to verify that with some multimeter.

This is just 20 minutes till now, but like i said above, promising.

Realtemp is one to use. Ignor core temp. If you have it seated right then cores should move both at same time. The IHS on all the new 45nm is better as they have redesinged it

86C at 1.25v is craizness, its nuts it is still stable. You sure about the voltage bc if you can do 1.2 you beat everyone elses chip I have ever saw.

Can you run OCCT at 1.2v and post the vcore and temp graphs?

@Mykou: Mhm. Did not need to change much.. disabled all unneeded features,
445x9, Memory at Turbo, +0.2 DDR2, not sure what VCore in bios was.
Just tell me what you need to know.

@Eldonko: Like I said, I simply can't imagine this temps to be real. Also there was no throttling or whatsoever.
As stated above, the heatsink has good contact and is not getting nearly hot.
I will check voltages manually tomorrow as I don't want to remove the motherboard from the case right now. I'm sure about what Everest, EasyTune, CPUZ, Bios say though. Additionally voltage has to be about 1.6? 1.7? to give that high temps. I just can't believe that =)
1.168 just failed after 1 1/2 hours of prime small ffts. Will test one notch higher on vcore.

Need to know if you can boot with more than 1.40v on northbridge

and PLL /cpu/NB voltages ref if available and value ranges

you can mp since my questions about your mobo isn't everybody 's care here

event set at 1.19/1.20 load it would be a terrific chip IMO .

    @Mykou:
I can set Northbridge-Voltage to +0.3. In theory this should be higher than 1.4 volt Actually the board undervolts a bit here.
I'm not quite sure which one are the other voltages you mention in bios as they are named differently in the P35-DS3. FSB-Voltage can be increased by +0.3, same goes for PCIe. I didn't change any of those voltages though, needed them with my Q6600 before to reach ~450 FSB + stability but the E3110 runs ok without any adjustments.

    thanks for screens .

so you get 4 ghz under 1.17v load and occt .

do you know your max fsb ?
