    Less than an inch actually.
    The drive was on a folded piece of foam and the mic was right between 'em.

    Yup, that means only 10% of the discs is in use so the head has very short distances to travel - the funny thing is this doesn't gain anything in real world because on non-fragged drives files are located just as close to each other as on this 10% array. The only application that gains is the random access time tests on HDD benchmarks.

    Now that's a considerably price drop. Almost 50% infact.

    The part number is the same HD103UJ so the letter that codes the amount of heads (U=6) is the same thus the amount of platters is 3.

    I don't see how it could be a mistake as there's dozens of vendors that offer the drive at this price point - or lower.

    and these are his hdtach speed does it look correct?

    his specs are abit ip35pro + Q6600 @ 3.2 + 4GB DDR2 800 + 3870 ATI + Vista Ultimate SP1
