    hmm i just got my 640GB F1

speed is great, a huuuge stepup from my 7200.10 (2 of them in raid 0 are slower...)

still need 3 more drives, 1 more 640GB in Raid 1 and 2 320gb for apps+OS in raid 0, i'm getting tire of dividing my data on 4 different external drives to back it up

but i really want 2 single platter 320 gb drives for my OS, WD is out because of the access times, but i'm still hoping to get a F1 (new one is much more quiet than my 7200.10s) or the 7200.11 in the next month , my lappy wants a 320gb drive to ( 400€ for hard drives )

What do you mean by that "2 of them in raid 0 are slower"? Are you trying to say one 640GB F1's in raid 0 isnt looking good or one 640 F1 is faster then 2 320gb 72.00's in raid 0?

Bought a 500GB 7200.11 last week, briefly considered getting another for RAID... then these 320GB/Platter babies from WD and Seagate roll out...bah. Difficult for people who treat computer building as an art form to ignore. Less power, less noise and good performance alwayts make you stand up and take notice...even if you're not in the market
