I put MX-1 on both north/south bridge and the two mofset areas (all surfaces directly in contact with the heatpipe system). MX-1 was a pain to apply due to the dry consistence but I hope it is fine. I am honestly not sure what you mean about the memory volt regs?

    My setup

    First quick result : QX9650 490x9=4400

Here's 3 hours of everest with all voltages and temps, stupid me forgot to display cpu-z, but this is also on 490x9.

Hope next bios will give fsb 500+ as i see alot on SIIE with QX9650 hit a wall at 490.
On the other hand it might off course be the cpu limit.

webwilli, I'm surprised that since you started this topic ...

    http://www.lavalys.com/forum/index.p...topic=3092&hl=

that you haven't downloaded this latest Everest beta ...

    http://www.lavalys.com/beta/everestu...1scfd4mcyx.zip

and commented on the SPP temp values compared to your BIOS readings. Hopefully you'll find that the Everest 4.50.1347 Beta reading are closer to your BIOS values.

Argh!!! It gets worse. Now windows hangs instantly after boot. Has anybody come acroos this!!!!

It's quite possible I might have gotten a dud in the first place. Also, am suspecting that my mobo ate my RAM(much like the earlier striker). When I first tested it with memtest @ default 333 FSB(1333 QDR) unliked with the RAM @ the rated 1600 7-7-7-20 1T i got 3 good passes. Now,memtest is giving errors @ the same setting.

As a last ditch effort, I will have to try the 0508 BIOS and see what happens. I already got the RMA # for the RAM from newegg.

0508 Is a no go on my board. It complains about the id not being compatible with the existing bios or something like that. I guess it's RMA time. Never dealt with NCIX for an RMA. Actually SIIE was my first purchase from them.Hope the RMA goes smooth for a replacement from NICX.

790i is very picky with ram settings.
Try 2T and see if this solve the problem, it did for me anyway.

Lol I already put evrything in the box to be RMAed, but realised even if they cross ship, it would take atleast Monday for me to get the board. So I decided to keep the board and keep trying atleast for this weekend and see what happens and RMA it monday and hopefully get the replacement cross shipped to me overnight. Thanks for the new BIOS , will try it.

I put my system back together and it gets really interesting. First up, I flashed to 0511 no problems. The wierd problem about the POST mesaage complaining about the NB,SB and the CPU temperature on a cold boot went away and also the voltages and temperature are showing up properly.

    Test 1:

    CPU-E3110
    RAM-OCZ 4GB Platinum EB
    Mobo- SIIE

Left everything on auto and ran memtest no problems for 3 passes.

    Test 2:
    CPU-E3110
    RAM-OCZ 4GB Platinum EB
    Mobo- SIIE

CPU@1333 QDR(default), RAM @1600 "Unliked" everything else on auto.

Memtest hangs. I tried 3 times to run memtest and all 3 times it hung on me @ various times.

    Test 3:
    CPU-E3110
    RAM-OCZ 4GB Platinum EB
    Mobo- SIIE

CPU@1333 QDR(default), RAM @1700 "Unliked" everything else on auto.

    Memtest passed for 3 passes.

So, it does look like there is a hole between DDR3 1500 to DDR3 1700. I don't think it's the FSB guys, I think it's the RAM speed.

Now, will try to run on sync mode with both QDR and RAM @ 1700 and see how it goes.
