Hi All,
Have flashed my bios with .P07.No more problem with nvidia video drivers in Vista 32 bits. Have forced my ram settings to 5-5-5-15-2T and run at stock speed -> boot ok. Have lowered my multiplier and boot -> ok. (have tested with 1066x8) Now, time for O/c...

I have a problem with just flashing P07 bios. The flash itself was successful. Pc boots fine. However, Coretemp reports 3150mhz which is just where it should be 350x9. Everest, OCCT, cpu-z report a 6x multiplier in use and system running at 2100mhz???![]()

Do you have speedstep enabled? Under certailn cituations CoreTemp is known to incorrectly report processor speed when the system is running with a lower proc multiplier.

BIOS settings sometimes get scrambled during a flash. Try the following steps:
1st, go into the BIOS and load optimized defaults. Since this is a performance BIOS, it will set your RAM timings very aggressively, so before you save and reboot, go into the Cell menu and set RAM timings manually to their stock values. Then save and reboot and see if your processor is running at it's default x9 multiplier, as verified by cpu-z, everest, or another cpu-id harware monitor. If it is, then reapply your overclock and see what happens.
If that does not work, I would reset the CMOS and try from there. This should better ensure that any lingering issues from the flash are rectified, as the CMOS is reset to factory values (but using the flashed BIOS version.)
When upgrading BIOSes, it's always helpful to first reset your settings back to factory-spec before flashing to a newer version. Some people feel a CMOS reset before and after the Flash is the best way to ensure that no problems occur, but in the last ten years I've never felt the need to go that far.

thx. I had since gone out since my last post and reset bios. Reapplied my settings, confirmed my settings, confirmed 9x multi. Have just rebooted and and now every test including coretemp this time claims 350x6=2100mhz. Only thing left to try is a cmos clear, load optomized and then reapply my settings.
And i too, always reset to default values before i ever attempt a flash. Caution is never too much to work with![]()

NIVO, I sent you a msg on the other forum which I suppose you can disregard now since you've tried my suggestion. As I said a couple times earlier I think any bugginess or flaws and also incompatibilities should be reported directly to http://ocss.msi.com.tw/ so they can continue to work on known issues. Ultimately this will benefit us all.

Nivo,
If you are still receiving the multiplier issue after clearing the CMOS, please inform MSI via loonym's link.

Everything is the same as the 780i, except mind does not show the GTL voltage nor the FSB term Ref setting. Have only the NB,SB, and FSB voltages. Maybe a modified BIOS could unlock the other values!
Reason I went with the 750I was I needed that PCI slot with SLI enabled.

I wasn't certain if it was driver or bios related but I think I've confirmed that P07 raises stock core and shader clocks with my 9600gt from 700/1680 to 721/1730.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the 750i BIOS has a normal vCore setting (set via voltage, not amount) and a normal FSB Term setting (called VTT, again set by voltage and not meaningless number.)

1500fsb will likely need some tweaking to vNB and FSB Term in order to be stable. I too am perfectly stable at 333x9 (3ghz Q6600, 1333mhz FSB) will all voltage settings on AUTO. Easiest OC I've ever done, but this is just as much a factor of my cpu as it is the board.

The card clock may not be picked up by gpu-z for whatever reason but can be detected by nvidia control panel and riva tuner as seen here.

loonym,
Make sure your PCI-E frequency is 100MHz. As the 9600GT will overclock via increasing the PCI-E bus.

something strange to my 6x multi problem. Just for kicks i fired up two high bit videos(HD) to play simultaneously and monitored cpu-z while doing so. I watched cpu jump back and forth as needed from 2100 to 3100 mhz. And the multi change showing 6x to 9x. That indicates to me EIST is in use. But I guarantee i have it off, I have checked and triple checked, cleared cmos countless times, loaded defaults countless times. Manually switched EIST several times to ensure it has changed. It is OFF in bios. And yet it could be in use still? So changing it does nothing?

Go into Advanced Chipset Features (I think it's this) and press F4. C1E support will appear, disable it.
