The certificate is issued the the NHTSA and DOT, so its national.

    http://www.nhtsa.dot.gov/cars/rules/...osd072003.html

But true, it does depend on your local law enforcement. You car can be totally legal, but if they dont like you or the car, theyll just give you a ticket or worst, impound just because they cant get dates with mullets.

Thanks to yours truly, Bill Gates, a bill was passed by Mr. Clinton that allows such rare cars on the road without being crashed tested, epa, etc....specifically in this case, a Porsche 959.

Billy really needs to get out and see that there are other cars in the world that he can afford. Even if he loves Porsche's, there's always the new 911 GT3 or the Carrera GT.

Where the hell does it say 99?

If you knew anything about cars, the 959 was a badass limited production porsche that gives the bloodline to the carrera gt. it was produced from 86 to 90.

some new news by the way, the Caparo T1 if released to the marke (which is for shure now) will be the fastest road car, aside from top speed which the Bugatti Veyron holds now at 253mph, 408kmh. With 0-60 at 2.5 seconds and 0-100 at just under 5 seconds.

For all you Ferrari fans ( I really hate Ferraris overpriced ugly crap )

But this Ferrari really does look absolutely gorgeous, kinda reminds me of something outta NFS with the black and white colour scheme.

    Beautiful car.

PS My fave car is the Porsche 911 or Porsche Carrera GT

I don't need to learn about the 959. By 99 Porsche I'm talking about his 1999 911 Convertible. If you read the article you would know what I was talking about.
Now, after waiting some 10 years, Gates can finally enjoy his other favorite Porsche: a rare (1 of 230) 1988 Porsche 959 Coupe. ... it took a federal law signed by President Clinton for Bill Gates to legally drive his 959 on American roads.
Clinton was obviously president in the 80s right? He got the 959 in the 90s (as it says "after waiting some 10 years"). When I said he should get to better cars, I meant better than stuff like a 911. Anyway I'm done with this sissy argument before it wrecks this thread more than it already has....

Actually the fastest car available at that time was the Ferrari F40.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ferrari_F40

The F40's light weight of 1100 kg (2425 lb) and high power output of 478 PS (352 kW/471 hp) at 7000 rpm gave the vehicle tremendous performance potential. Road tests have produced 0-100 km/h (62 mph) times as low as 3.2 seconds, with 0-160 km/h (100 mph) in 7.6 seconds and 0-200 km/h (125 mph) in 11 seconds giving the F40 a slight advantage in acceleration over the 959, its primary competitor at the time.

That law you have...that means you could legally import Sierra Cosworth RS500's, Escort RS1800's and a few other choice vehicles

I refuse to participate in any debate with creationists because doing so would give them the "oxygen of respectability" that they want.

I guess I should post pics of some of my own dream cars to make up for my little argument.

My dream car list is as follows (not in any specific order but Enzo and Supra at the top):

    Ferrari Enzo

    Ferrari F430 Scuderia

Toyota Supra MKIV (This is Orido's personal drifting Supra with a Ridox bodykit)

    Koenigsegg CC**

    Ascari A10

    Pagani Zonda F

    Saleen S7 Twin Turbo

    Mercedes-Benz CLK-GTR

    Porsche 911 GT2

    Subaru Impreza WRC

Now for something a bit different, the Plymouth Roadrunner

Maybe I overdid it with my list? Oh well, more car pr0n to enjoy

Cars I can afford: That Supra listed above is off the chain! For some reason I absolutely love the TL Type S or G37 Coupe.

Out of my reach: Bugatti Veryon, New ferrari, New GT-R is tight

Doesn't the new Ariel Atom 2 turbo have a 0-60 time of 2.3sec? but no idea on the 0-100 time. Just the fact its super light and has a 300hp+ turbo engine... you can still kill yourself quite easily in both cars. And yes the T1 did the Top Gear lap in 1:10.9 which is 7sec faster than the CCX which was at 1:17.9. Even thought it didnt count because it cant get over a damn "sleeping policeman" aka a speedbump. Cant remember where the OLD atom did, but thats the old model.

Personally... I would take that new GT-R! Sexy car that is.

*EDIT* Here is the topgear lap time list... http://www.topgear.com/content/tgonb...times/thestig/

And the '07 Ultima GTR did the lap in 1:12.8 which is still slower than the T1. http://www.seriouswheels.com/cars/20...Lap-Record.htm
