    Thanks Dave.

Why would they consider the option of lowering the NB volts
I gave up on my support guy, I told him the language barrier was too great, which it was. It wouldn't surprise me if that happened here.

I saw you were contemplating putting your Phenom under water, I got mine out the other day and it has dropped temps by 15deg.

Well Aussie, at least they raised the base NB v's to 1.138. It's a step in the right direction. I totally agree with you though, you should be able to take it up to 1.25 at the very least!

I was, but I got lazy... Hey I was on vacation!
Anyway, it's over now, back to work tommorow.
Just curious as to whether the lower temps helped your OC?

Dave, Amd power monitor reports my cpu NB at 1.25v.

As for my overclock my pc is going downhill fast since I installed SP1. I used to be able to get a 2.5ghz stable overclock and now I am at 2.4ghz I upped the voltage to 1.3 to try and keep it there.

Sorry to hear about your OC problems bud... I finally ditched Vista 64 for the 32 bit version because I was having alot of OC problems myself. Vista32 just seems to run a whole lot smoother and gives a better OC.

I wasn't real happy with the SP1 install of Vista32 either, the fact that it had the TLB fix built in was a pain, but Sam's patch fixed that problem and it's pretty painless once you set it to run at loggon.

SP1 for Vista32 didn't have any effects on my OC though...

I flashed back to the F4 bios tonight just to check the base v's of the NB and you are right it was 1.25v's... And it still won't do 2100Mhz on the NB! No idea what they did in the F5 version, but I get better NB speeds with lower v's, so what ever they did.... It's better!

Carath: Heres a good site for HSF information:

Normally 120mm fans don't run at really high speeds. 1100 RPM sounds about right for a 120 to me. Lot's of info at Frostytech though!
