I wanted this Striker II Extreme bad, but I can wait about 1-2 weeks longer for the price to come down a bit here in CALI...

Oh blah?
Thanks a bunch. I'm running on 0507 now about to start some testing. Thanks for the quick reply
No worries, playing with the xfx ref atm myself![]()
Oh blah?
Currently building a S2E based rig for a customer... HW specs are quite convincing
- QX9770@4Ghz min. (he insisted on that)
- 3x Asus 8800 Ultra for Tri-SLI
- 2x1TB Samsung F1 drives
- 2x2GB OCZ Reaper 1333 CL6 (hoping they will rune fine at 1600+ but doubt it, considering they were dirt cheap)
- Asus Xonar 2 fancy PCIe sound
- 2x Corsair TX750 PSU modded (2800RPM max 140mm out - 1000RPM max 140mm Yate Loon in)
Will be a dual-loop WC setup, all internal in a Silverstone TJ07.
System should be able to handle every game on a 30" while being very quiet (my specialty is building highly overpowered rigs that you guys would call inaudible)
I just hope everything will go smoothly, I always had trouble with Asus boards, tbh I don't like them at all (now less than ever, thanks to their lack of supporting my 450$ Dual S771 mobo). Also heard rumours about the fuzion block being crappy on this one, but we'll see.
If you guys have any hints regarding the mobo and/or DDR3 I'd be happy to hear them, since this will be my 1st 790i/DDR3 rig.
Should I even try to run the mem at 1600 CL7 or is 1333 CL6 just as fine?
1T still having that big an impact on NV mobos?
I built lots of 680i based setups, even a triple-SLI before but no clue so far about the 790i. That's what makes it exciting though![]()
You know what seems that is the only thing that makes this board exspensive, the LEDS. Fors sake every manufacturer that makes something with LEDS jacks up the price x100. this is a cry out, listen you idiotic companies LED LIGHTS DO NOT FREAKING COST $50 a piece, im getting tired of manufacturers in general jacking up prices by 200% because it has some lights on it.

maybe they are using super high quality LED to ensure that it will last longer than the motherboard's lifetime. lol
