Can't take a pic I'm at the airport now will be out of town for a week. The barbs I used were EK's short barbs. They fit touching and had a 1/8" gap after I put on the tubeing and tightned down the hose clamps.

The few bubbles I had in the rez cleared by this morning. No leaks

Edit... This link Post #103 for a pic of both barbs http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...=167434&page=5

HEY! I'm getting movieman! NO POSTING :banana::banana::banana: ON THE FORUM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Amazing build you got there, you put to shame just about any build I've seen here aside from the pros.

Just a thought, with nehalem coming in just a matter of months and the r700 and gt200 cards possibly coming in June, are you sure you're willing to dump that much money on your build?

Thanks for the compliment. This is actually my first WC build ever. I did alot of homework as I wasn't impressed with the OC abilities of my previous attempts on Air. To be honest I haven't built a custom system for over 10 years. The (NOW) network server that is going into this build was my last custom; Dual PIII 850 Coppermine. Hell even looking at that system has prompted me to upgrade it later this year. New stuff aside this system will last me a while and tickle my fancy for new hardware. I don't just upgrade to get the latest and greatest per se, just quality and current when I do upgrade. I'll be back in 10 more years with a new build

Edit... I'm not too keen on the tubeing coils, but as tight as I'm making the loops to reduce overall length they are required in some parts. I'll probably replace them in the end with a clear version instead of the UV. I also was not impressed with Petra's UV Blue/Clear dye, I liked that it's clear under normal light; however the Blue is more of a pale green then any kind of blue. It looks pink now b/c I added a few drops of UV red dye in the hopes of improving the color somewhat, But no purple under UV and light Pink under normal light. I think the CPU loop is doomed for draining before the system is done

Hyde is very nearly done now, this weekend I plumed the VGA/MB loop minus the SB-MAX-EX block as it's been delayed by EK pending a minor change. My DDR3 Mem should ship on Monday so on Wednesday I should be able to bring life to this system.

Due to a design issue I need to order a new replacement top for the MM case, at least the design is now finalized so I have a template to use for the final top, with that order comes a few extra acrylic dual 5.25 bay covers as I cracked the first trying to drill an 80mm hole in it for the server HDD's.

Only thing left to do post those parts is to upgrade my server components for the bottom tray as my existing is an E-ATX board that won't fit the case as it hits the rads.

Final build tally for Hyde ~$6K, projected expense for upgrading the server components ~1K . The server will have to wait till later this year and I'll re-install it back in it's original case.

I'll update again with temps Idle/Load once I receive the additional parts and load the OS, etc. as well as provide completed pics.

Now to pick up all my spare parts and tools

Great news, just got an email from EK the SB-S-MAX block is now in route. I plummed the GPU/MB loop without the SB block for the time being to start playing with the system. So far I have BIOS stable 4.9Ghz on the QX9650 and 1524 on the craptastic memory. Vista stable thus far has only been 4.66Ghz with 1854 on the mem. Other then the SB the temps are looking promising at idle. Spent the last three days in the bios working out the best config, Trying to get to 5Ghz or just alittle better for 24/7 use. Once proven stable I'll post my bios config and final pics when the SB block is in the loop and the case is closed.

Looks killer Grim. How do you like the Duality? Seems like it's almost small to fit 2 systems in once case and put all the W/C gear inside as well.

Been a while since I've updated, RL issues plus waiting on the remaining parts to arrive.

    Maglin,
I like the Duality 18" cube it has just (and I say just) enough room to fit everything in the case with two complete systems 9x hdd's, but only one WC'd.

    Now for the pics

For Barfastic the long awaited gpu ek shorty w/ clamp pics. sorry I got busy and didn't dl them from the camera until tonight

New EK SB-Max-EX block fresh from EK

I'm a bit disappointed with the mod as it's not a corrected base just a redrilled / tapped base. I can live with it in the end if the very fine threads still hold the mount screw.

My temporary ghetto SB / Xlink cooling while I was waiting on the modified block.

    SB Plumbing

    Fully reinstalled, bleed, running

Side , the cables below are from the server psu will be tied up later when I upgrade the server HW. The current server MB is an EATX and dosen't fit the case with the rads in place.

    Side again

All new PC's require a new desk

and of course a new chair

I've gotten the system bios stable to 5.23G, won't boot OS and high cpuV anyway. working on stablizing the system to a modest 50% overclock at 4.5G for 24/7 use just tweaking the last few settings will post the finaly stress test results when done in a few weeks as I have time to play.

1004 bios but only stable in bios not OS (Vista X64)

Edit... that was also with 1.8V to the CPU way to much to run 24/7 for any length of time I was just playing around figuring out the max FSB, MEM, etc...

Nothing to write home about but here's my baseline test

I'm still concerned that I can not get GPUZ nor 3DM06 to state my gpu's are linked. Only thing that says they are linked is CCC ;(

    2.7G CPU
    1800/8/8/8/24/2T mem
    Gpu's stock 825/901

    26 - 28C case ambient

Now to finish the stabilizing of a 4.5G cpu clock.
