Perhaps "cutie's" got his mouth stuck on that nice cold evap you sent him

    stuck on evap...and mower.

Right on every point there man. 2.1 would be the max I would try if the newer ICs are in place.

By the way, I toilet at air 1:1 to no runmc that I was going to make sure the ones I had would run the numbers he wanted. So far 1:1 with this POS processor I could only validate to 524 or 1048DDR. Not sure that would help him but on second thought they might have since he was under phase and I was airing it out. Think he was mostly unable to 'boot' at all without C1. Dang it.

Hey, not sure if this is the place to post this, but I'm new to Overclocking. Specs are in my sig. I'm trying to setup my comp to run 3.0Ghz [333*9] and I'm trying to get the RAM to run 1:1 but I don't understand the bios well enough to be able to. Would someone here be able to help me or is this the wrong place to ask this?

Thank you. So I'm assuming when you increase the clock you increase the ratio? or is it just as long as thats the overall FSB that you leave it with that? [sorry for the newb questions]

You don't have to increase the ratio. Try leaving it at 333/667 (1:1) and raising the FSB. You'll see that the ram speed changes automatically based on the fsb you set.

In other words, when you raise the fsb you raise the freq of the ram. The ratio stays put as you set it.

The OCZ PC2 9200 came in today. It looks like it was Crucial Balistics that was holding me back at 1/1 (333/667)

I made some major improvement but fell just a little short of my goal. (Wanted to get into the 8 sec Club) It's misting here today, and I think was mobo was getting wet. It started crashing left and right.

Thanks for the help Praz and RGone - you were right - is was the ram

Any advice on clocking 4x2gig on this board? My EVGA 780i board could get this ram to 1000 5-5-5-15 @ 1.90v, but the DFI seems to balk at anything over 900. It's the cheapo A-data from Frys. And, yes, I do use all 8 gigs.

    Thanks!

try bumping your NB voltage a few notches up. Also check your subtimings they may be too tight for your settings.

Tried this. About the only think i could find in regards to overclocking 8 gigs was to raise the TRFC anywhere from 52 to 56 when going over 900. I've tried bumping everything up a notch or 2 including taking the memory from 1.85 to 2.1 with worse stability after 1.97v. I've set the base timings and TRFC with everything else left to auto. Any help out there?

    Well it is good when...

Good when a plan or suggestion comes together. I had been reading too many posts about issues with Crucial to just set on it. My problem was that like a dunce I was trying to push the set I had intended to send to you, to the ram speed you wanted to reach...not ever considering that you were on phase and lame me was still on air. You beat me to the 'buy' button. Hehehe.

Truth, that is pretty good with nearly in the 8's at only 4500mhz. You must be getting some serious working bandwidth to be that low in the 9's at only 4500mhz.

Congrats to you man and glad Praz and I had a small clue to add to your mix, you done good.

Running an X3350 is interesting on this board. I need high NBcore voltage and high VTT I can get it to run P95 small ffts for an hour. If I run blend it fails immediately. I would like to blame the memory modules (Crucial DDR2-667 D9GMH) but I also think the NB is being stressed to the extremes here. I had an X3210 that I could run 24/7 at 3.8GHz with only small bumps in the above mentioned voltages and 1.475vcore. To get 3.6GHz with this board and the X3350 I need only 1.296vcore but 1.61vNB and high VTT (sorry, don't remember the value) and still it will run small ffts fine but the blend kills it. It feels like the CPU itself is stable but the NB/memory is a killer.

try relaxing performance level to >8 and make sure the first two option in memory timings are set to FAST or lower (NOT TURBO!)
