Then... how many hours do I need to pass with that?

Edit: And yeah, that's really intense. It's stressing my CPU a bit over 70C now, and there are quite a few warnings on the screen. Still running fine though. 12 minutes now.

Edit again: Took up 1.8GB of RAM (that's insane?) before one instance died. I think I need more RAM to know if it'll ever pass 15 minutes. Froze at 13 and a half.

Are you using Orthos?? As long as you check "run FFTs in-place" in the custom window it shouldn't use up that much ram.

Hmm, one instance used that much RAM. But anyway, sure. I'll try it again.

Evga 780i, bios P03, vdroop has been pencil modded. Pretty stable board with Q6600, but required GTL tweaking to get past 400x9.
4x1GB old Crucial Ballistix Tracers 1066, only 2.3GB addressable

    Intel Xeon X3350, L80A3A756
RAM @ 1:1 ratio, relaxed timings

-Testing 3.6 GHz (450x9), rock solid so far, full NB and FSB (PLL) voltages, 1.256V for core, seems like could go lower. Running small ffts, prime95.

Temp is around ~50C with push-pull configuration of 2 Scythe 63CFMs on a Ultra 120, ultra tight, MX-2, sealed sides. No lapping.

Tried 500x8 at 1.55V, think its mobo limiting me. Going for Maximus board.

I'm still waiting for my X3350, but if I can get that sort of clock I will be satisfied.

Now I'm even more positive that a X38 or X48 motherboard would be able to go beyond 500MHz,
Has anyone done this yet ? What motherboards are getting the best clocks out of these ? I keep looking for info but Im not finding ....

Prolly typo mate.. but good news for the 780i boys to confirm my findings with the Qx... Aussie revhead will be pleased for 450 FSB confirmation though I suspect he wants to get higher....
Question : Why do some overclockers switch into d*ckmode when money is involved

Remark : They call me Pro Asus Saaya yupp, I agree

Not so many people have received their chips. Please be patient. In the meantime, I'm proud to announce that... it's requiring me 1.304v to pass prime stable now... and it's 10K prime! It was stable for 6 hours 10K at 1.312v, and now I'm going to try and see if 10K at 1.304v is stable enough. Voltage requirement seems to just drop by 0.01 every day.

Will report back in hours. Oh yeah, and both CPU-Z and SpeedFan are reporting... 1.30v vCore.

Try lowering the vCore down to 1.24v? I know mine can prime stable for 1.22v.

And... orthos restarted because my computer went into standby mode after 20 minutes... lol Oughta have turned that off... or stayed here and posted something.

just received my x3350 yesterday and I'm having fun with it but it's also a pain.

this thing seems to run way hot even at low voltages.
so far though I've managed to get it to run at around 3.6ghz I might be able to go higher but still learning the board here also

    here are some screens though

Mmm... for 3.6GHz, I don't think you need that much vCore? And yeah, the CPU runs hot. Probably because it's overclocked quite hard for a quad-core. I mean... I'm doing a 1.14GHz overclock here from 2.66GHz to 3.80GHz. Even at 3.6GHz, that's already a 1GHz overclock.

And by the way, if anyone is having troubles getting these up to over 460-470MHz, try setting your PLL volt to 1.64-165v, FSB Term to 1.36-1.40v, and NB volt to 1.50-1.55v, see what happens then?

    Edit: 1h Orthos 10K now.

I wouldn't be shocked if I could lower it a bit. it was more of a get her stable first and then lower from there.

for the pll are you refering to the cpu or northbridge pll? so far I'm not very good with this p5k and only seem to know half the options as I came from a p5b.

It says... PLL voltage in one option, and since it doesn't seem to be related to my CPU, I'm guessing it's the NB PLL. And as you can see above, 3.8GHz is stable with the kind of vCore you're at.

3 hours now. I don't want to spam the forums with pictures of Orthos running... so I'll just report that it's 3 hours now, and 3.80GHz @ 1.304v is rock solid.

Go for it! I'm expecting some great results.

Anyway, almost 4 hours, and still rock solid so far. Seems like 1.304v is enough for 3.80GHz now... that's just crazy! I wonder if it'll drop down to 1.288v tomorrow?

Whats a safe 24/7 voltage with these chips? Around 1.35 seems good?

Intel specsheets say 1.3625v. I think if you set it to below 1.3625v in the BIOS, you're good to go. On my board, 1.3500v means 1.304v real.

Edit: Oh, and I stopped the stress test at 4 and a half hour because I needed to get into some websites. Stress testing + web browsing like that lagged a whole friggin' lot. But now I'm sure it's rock solid at 3.80GHz @ 1.304v.
