    X3350 overclocking help!

I am going to be purchasing this using the XIGMATEK HDT-S1283 air cooler

I don't know what board to get...

    P35
    X38
    X48
$I can spend $270, a Friend said the P35-DS3R, im not sure if it will have the native 45nm support and I also want 2.0 PCI-E, and so I was considering the X38 chipset, but I was going to get a DFI board, but I heard support might be bad..
I have no attention of using crossfire

Then this one is the perfect fit for you:

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813131219

    X38, PCI-E x16 2.0 (2 slots), 4 slots of DDR2 RAM dual-channel, and support up to 1600MHz FSB. Guaranteed 45nm support, too.

Once you get it don't lash out with the voltage. You may degrade it. Mine does 3.4ghz with 1.1v, but my memory is keeping me back.

Well, once you degrade it, let me know... cuz I've seen QX9650 processors running for as high as 6GHz and can still be alive and kicking weeks after that. And it seems reports come in only for E8400 processors at the moment... or maybe someone would like to point me to some QX9650 degrade or E8500 degrade thread?

Well, I'm using the P5E-VM HDMI board, and apparently, I may just be the only one around using this board. But I'm running a X3350 at 3.80GHz 24/7 stable, so you should at least be able to do the same with a board with better chipset, no? It's G35 for me. It's X38 for that board.

Over at OCXtreme one of the guys (coolaler perhaps) destroyed his QX9650 from over volting.

There have been several reports of Q9650's dying. Most of the ones you're refering to have extreme cooling and some of them have died as well.

I know. I'm just saying that they can survive, and that they'd either die right away, or live on like nothing happened. What I'm talking about is degradation, and it just so happens that reports only come in for E8400 processors. I know my processor is a 45nm and it has a chance to "degrade" as well, but my point is that there's no proof that it's not just the E8400 processors alone that do that. And... there's no proof that all E8400 processors may do that, nah? And what about those trying to prime their E8400's at 1.44v or above?

Well, my chip is showing the opposite symptoms of degradations now...? Check the X3350 Arrival thread. :/

Are you using the onboard vid on that p5e? Wondering if it is still stable at high fsb with the onboard video?
