    you are right... my bad.

apparently there is a bios editor that supports 1.4v, ive yet to try it out but it seems promising

    *edit*
bah, doesnt allow volt changing for 2900 series

The Techpowerup Bios Editor allows higher 3d voltage, anyone tried this yet?

I still have lots of trouble cooling the VRM's of this card, i can't keep the temps under control, even when using heatpipes on the VRM's.

    same here.

ati tool can be used to raise volts even higher... so my theory on this is the proper hex value for any volt above 1.35 is unknown.

how flat is that heatpipe on the vrms? i totally ignored the pulse chips on mine...

i installed small heatsinks from petra's where your heatpipe is. i cleaned off the thermal tape and used non conductive thermal adheasive from arctic silver... i think i was arctic silver alumina ceramique adheasive

vrms dont get above 85 now

Why dont you pick some stock cooler (amd is good) and put it on mosfet. You have to modify a little, but it is worth...

I made it more flat, and first it gave me +25mhz on the core. So cooling those little pulse chips definitely helps. I could do more then 950mhz with the Fur benchmark, and 930mhz 3dmark06. At this moment it isn't stable at any speed.

Such high clocks with VRM above 85? OMG. I know my card is not the best because the stock vgpu is 1.2v, but my card can't clock high, even while my VRM never goes above 50c according to Rivatuner.

stock vrms usually hover around 100c full load...

ownage, what water cooling system are you using? I'm looking into getting a new cooling setup, but am a n00b when it comes to water cooling.

    pump: Swiftech mcp655
    reservoir: Swiftech MCRES-Micro
radiator: HWlabs black-ice gt stealth 240.
    fans: 2x Yate-loons medium (noisy sons of b!tches, i don't like them)
cpu block: Swiftech Apogee GT universal.
    gpu block: D-tek Fuzon GFX

The radiator is one heck of a bottleneck but still i can hold my gpu below 50c when high overclocked with 1.35v.
You should take a thick triple radiator (360) for optimum cooling performance. A swiftech mcr320 would be a goo choice.

Anyone here using the hd2900 Pro with the accelero xtreme?
Here the fans aren't starting on their one, so everytime I start the PC I've to kick-start the fans by hand... .

Kick start how exactly? What are your temps now btw? And how was the install?
Also, where did you get it?

    Thanks.

I've to start the fans by hand... . Probably they don't get enough Voltage to start on their own.
My card is running at 800/850mhz, idle Temp is 49, after a while of 3dmark06 it's around 67 (in ccc). With stockcooler Temps were 61 idle, 87 load.
Installation was ok, but the cooler is really huge. My mainboard is a XBX2, and there it's blocking two S-ATA Ports.

The cooler is available in some German online shops, I ordered it from one of them.

Thanks. 20C difference or so is what Arctic Cooling claimed in their marketing materials so that's good that you are seeing similar results.

I figure with all those fans it should cool the VRM area well... Have you been able to clock higher than with the stock cooler?

I had that ones when using a fan controller and set the fan at low speeds. I also had to start the fans by hand, clearly a volt issue. Maybe you could try to connect the fans to the mobo with some modding.

I guess 87c with stockcooling is with the fan at low speeds? I never had my card above 65c with the stockcooling

I was able to solve the problem with the accelero xtreme by using Rivatuner and forcing a fixed fan speed during windows loading.

    Wow...

Wow This has to be one of the most Fustrating things ever!

At first I thought it was just VISTA seeing how XP recognizes my VIDEO card fine, and VISTA Refuses to recognize my card when I install the OS weither I install the 32bit or 64 bit edition.

I then waited 4 months for SP1 to come out thinking it was VISTA. Now I don't know what is wrong because After the service pack, windows still refesues to recongize my VIDEO card other than Default video, ATI drivers 8.4 (latests) will not recognize the video card, GPUZ will not says "unkown arictechture"

This has really pissed me off.

I went ahead and used the XT flash on nickfire again after flashing serveral from teachpowerup it showed a change in a few digits indicating to me that I successfuly flashed to XT, however in VISTA it still refesues to Acknowledge my video card.

I need help, if anyone has any ideas please help. Again vista just refuses to recognize the BIOS flashes on my video card
